Some Ermon Lane Tidbits

I would've predicted Cook to USC but Kiffin is going to get canned after the season. Maybe his replacement will still convince Cook to sign there.

As for Lane....whatever. There's an assembly line of quality WRs in Florida every year and we already have someone just as good in Langham and someone better already on campus (Coley).

Nah. No way. All those fake schools are clean, and UM fans who think they're cheating are just bitter according to the Even Steven fair and balanced guys on here.

can't have it both ways. it was well known lsu bought dwayne bowe and his coach, guess who that high school coach was that got a job with lsu? james coley. fsu was known to break out the duffle bags as well and he was their best recruiter. glass houses and all brah.

Yes b/c we brought in James Coley to buy recruits for us with the NCAA microscope on us 24/7.

This makes perfect sense?

The reason Coley is a great recruiter is his personality, some guys just have that charisma about them, many recruits have said they just love being around that guy.
A lot of people would say the same things about Cristobal, that is why he is hated so much by our fan base, mainly b/c he left UM after only a month to go to Alabama and try to take the best kids from South Florida (our bread and butter) and keep them from staying home and playing for UM. This is the only reason Saban brought in Cristobal, to take his pick of the best South Florida recruits.

I def didn't like the Coley when he was at FSU but only b/c he was a beast recruiter, I didn't feel that way b/c I thought he was buying recruits.

And just like you making that statement about Coley, someone could say something similar about your head coach, was Muschamp not just brought up in that article about him paying a player for a bad practice or some **** at Auburn?

Even through all of this Nevin Shapiro BS, he never mentioned us buying any recruits which is the main NCAA violation that really gives you a competitive advantage.
And he obviously would have brought that up in the Yahoo report if we actually did this nonsense.

Truth is, even if we wanted to, we couldn't outbid any of these $EC teams, O$U, U$C etc...

I would bet almost anything that UF is paying the Cook family, but I don't necessarily think that UF is dumb enough to offer Lane $$$ with him being related to a UM coach(Barrow), but Cook, almost definitely

none of it makes any sense, that was my point. you can't claim all these coaches and schools are paying players when one of those coaches who was formerly accused is currently on your staff. you dudes have been calling out lsu for years and everyone knows coley secured bowe for lsu and got a job as a result of it. he was fsu's lead guy and they were handing out stacks of cash the last few years. it's just funny how he switches universities and he's suddenly clean because he's at your university. if you're going to throw accusations, at least be consistent. otherwise, it just comes off as nonsensical sour grapes when you lose a kid.

saying that, YES kids do get paid. at uf and everywhere else. i know some personally who got paid. but it isn't anywhere near as widespread as this board would have you believe. cash is only brought out for the elite of the elite, the surefire nfl types like an adrian peterson. this board would have you believe every recruit with a semi decent d-1 offer is getting paid.

Had to repost this part for you

IMO if there is any player in Dade that is being bought this year it is def Dalvin Cook.

#1 He has the type of ability that makes these $EC schools break out the duffle bag (Reggie Bush/CJ Spiller type ability)

#2 He is the one player this cycle that has a history of getting paid to play.

Oh and by the way, I'm not one of those guys that think every guy that leaves South Florida is getting paid, for example, I don't think that UGA bought Sony Michel, I do however believe that L$U bought CB Patrick Peterson and I do believe that Auburn bought QB Cam Newton and that Clem$on bought WR Sammy Watkins and possibly LB Tony Stewart etc...

There are certain players that you bust out the duffles for and Dalvin Cook is one of them, especially when you know that his parents have been shopping him around since little league.

And with how desperate UF is for WRs and how much of a d bag their new WRs coach Joker is, I wouldn't put it past them to offer Lane $$$, but that might be a little risky since he is family with a UM coach, so I doubt they are that dumb.

And just b/c Coley may have done that stuff at other universities, does not mean that he is doing it at Miami, where we do not have a history of doing such things, not to mention the fact that we are under the NCAA microscope and cant afford a slip up.

Like you said, not every player gets paid, but I'm pretty sure that you would agree that if there was any player in Dade this cycle that you bust out the duffle bags for (if that's how you roll) it is Dalvin Cook.

That's quite a case of the butthurt you got there pal. Maybe if you take off the pink and white colored glasses and put the **** back in your mouth where it belongs you'd sound like less of a ******. Reading comprehension aint quite your thang is it bruh? The only players I have seen anyone theorize a pay day is Sony and Dalvin Cook. Then again stating the facts does really make your flimsy agenda driven statement hold water so you just throw out blanket statements huh? Your opinion is neither valued or solicited, so take your bull**** back to a gator board, or back to the WEZ with the rest of the circle jerkin' unemployed 20k internet post a day losers and kindly **** yourself.

agree with you in general and about cook. i wasn't referring to you specifically, just posters in general. the more level headed ones understand.

fyi i've heard the same **** on cook so i'm inclined to agree. especially since usc and kiffin is now in the picture, kiffin spares nothing to get a recruit. we'll see, i hope he sticks at uf but i doubt it.

WR isn't a position of need but when you constantly miss on elite talent in your backyard it's going to go against you in the long run.

The key query is "why are we 'constantly' missing on elite talent in our backyard." I'm sure the answer is complex and probably varies to some degree by player. I don't know the answer, but I hope it isn't Al and his staff. By most accounts, Al is one of the top recruiters in the country, so it's hard for me to believe that Al is the problem.

If WR isn't a position of need then missing on Lane will have no effect in the long run. If Lane wanted Miami then he should jump onboard. Not worried about him at all.

I think elite Wr's grow everywhere.

We have to hit on the one's we have, but I believe if you have speed Miami can develop the receiver out of you.

Losing a top, local recruit is always an area of concern.

Let me be clear. i want lane to be a cane but we are stacked at WR. if he leaves im not going to be all upset about it.

Was talking to some guy affiliated with Central the other day. I told him that he needs to get Cook to Miami. His exact words...

"We tryin. Miami ain't cuttin that check though."

SMH. ****in slimey *** SEC.

Nah.

You're retarded, and I'm hopeful that you don't make your living as an investigator. So in your warped world, Dwayne Bowe getting paid to go to LSU means that James Coley is now offering recruits money to attend UM? Yikes, the retardation runs deep. Do the world a favor and avoid procreation.

Was Coley a bagman at times? Did he benefit from Bowe going to LSU? Of course. But, you're being naive if you think he's trying to pull the same **** under Golden. I'm sure he's approached Golden with altnerative ways to land a kid but Golden is going full bore on staying clean as long as the NCAA is hovering around.

Say we miss on Lane & Rudolph this year to UF, & Devonte Phillips + Shawn Burgess Becker next year. Your argument states that we are deep at WR we don't need them, while we might be deep at WR the depth will start dwindling down quickly. Not saying we are going to miss on them but I was just proving an example.
