The only thing I don't believe is that he is getting a check,
more like a duffle bag.
It has been known that Cook's parents were trying to make him switch to Carol City b/c Flo Rida offered them $$$$ and Dalvin was real upset about it, and too many people started getting wind of it so his parents backed off of him about making the switch.
It is also known that his parents used to switch him from team to team in optimist to the highest bidding coach, and if you don't believe that type of **** happens in little league in Dade than ask some of the posters on here.
So once UF found out that this kid was for sale they made him and his parents an offer they couldn't refuse.
IMO if there is any player in Dade that is being bought this year it is def Dalvin Cook.
#1 He has the type of ability that makes these $EC schools break out the duffle bag (Reggie Bush/CJ Spiller type ability)
#2 He is the one player this cycle that has a history of getting paid to play.
Oh and by the way, I'm not one of those guys that think every guy that leaves South Florida is getting paid, for example, I don't think that UGA bought Sony Michel, I do however believe that L$U bought CB Patrick Peterson and I do believe that Auburn bought QB Cam Newton and that Clem$on bought WR Sammy Watkins and possibly LB Tony Stewart etc...
There are certain players that you bust out the duffles for and Dalvin Cook is one of them, especially when you know that his parents have been shopping him around since little league.
And with how desperate UF is for WRs and how much of a d bag their new WRs coach Joker is, I wouldn't put it past them to offer Lane $$$, but that might be a little risky since he is family with a UM coach, so I doubt they are that dumb.

Nah. No way. All those fake schools are clean, and UM fans who think they're cheating are just bitter according to the Even Steven fair and balanced guys on here.

can't have it both ways. it was well known lsu bought dwayne bowe and his coach, guess who that high school coach was that got a job with lsu? james coley. fsu was known to break out the duffle bags as well and he was their best recruiter. glass houses and all brah.

Coley wasn't pulling the cash out of his own pockets. Someone else was pulling the strings...I'm sure Coley has no issues being a bagman though. I'm definitely not trying to act like the Canes are squeaky clean tho...I think I read something the other day about them and some rogue booster.

Not sure one idiot like Shapiro (billionaire conman) is the same as an underlying religion of bagmen and pay for play.
Our problem is we are getting a 3-4 year beating for it while Auburn won a Championship with a pay for play scheme and synthetic drug house and everybody treated the Florida Tebows like they were a boys' choir when they were piling up arrests and we are ****ed off about it.

The reason Coley is a great recruiter is his personality, some guys just have that charisma about them, many recruits have said they just love being around that guy.
A lot of people would say the same things about Cristobal, that is why he is hated so much by our fan base, mainly b/c he left UM after only a month to go to Alabama and try to take the best kids from South Florida (our bread and butter) and keep them from staying home and playing for UM. This is the only reason Saban brought in Cristobal, to take his pick of the best South Florida recruits.
I def didn't like the Coley when he was at FSU but only b/c he was a beast recruiter, I didn't feel that way b/c I thought he was buying recruits.
And just like you making that statement about Coley, someone could say something similar about your head coach, was Muschamp not just brought up in that article about him paying a player for a bad practice or some **** at Auburn?
Even through all of this Nevin Shapiro BS, he never mentioned us buying any recruits which is the main NCAA violation that really gives you a competitive advantage.
And he obviously would have brought that up in the Yahoo report if we actually did this nonsense.
Truth is, even if we wanted to, we couldn't outbid any of these $EC teams, O$U, U$C etc...
I would bet almost anything that UF is paying the Cook family, but I don't necessarily think that UF is dumb enough to offer Lane $$$ with him being related to a UM coach(Barrow), but Cook, almost definitely

stuff i've heard, not claiming to have a bunch of sources or anything. but i'm very good friends for a guy who played at uf up until 08'. anyway the uf coaches aren't confident he sticks. everyone sort of assumes miami right now but usc is in the thick of it, cook is really tight with kiffin.

none of it makes any sense, that was my point. you can't claim all these coaches and schools are paying players when one of those coaches who was formerly accused is currently on your staff. you dudes have been calling out lsu for years and everyone knows coley secured bowe for lsu and got a job as a result of it. he was fsu's lead guy and they were handing out stacks of cash the last few years. it's just funny how he switches universities and he's suddenly clean because he's at your university. if you're going to throw accusations, at least be consistent. otherwise, it just comes off as nonsensical sour grapes when you lose a kid.
saying that, YES kids do get paid. at uf and everywhere else. i know some personally who got paid. but it isn't anywhere near as widespread as this board would have you believe. cash is only brought out for the elite of the elite, the surefire nfl types like an adrian peterson. this board would have you believe every recruit with a semi decent d-1 offer is getting paid.

Cook is my favorite RB in this class. **** shame that we cant pay him IMO. we are playing with a huge handicap
