Taggart to FSU; Leavitt stays at Oregon

Only thing Taggert does is he's a recruiting nuisance. It would infuriate me if he messed with what is looking to be an elite class of ours. Other than that, the guy isn't all that special. Jumbo was an elite elite recruiter, and coaches the heck out of QBs, and ALWAYS fielded a sick defense.

word. Florida guys dont turn down UM or FSU if they are willing to cut that check. No way he wants to stay in Oregon long term.

UCLA had the right idea, UF tried too. And by all accounts Nebraska was moving while Riley was still employed.

Gotta fire in season now and get the jump, early signing day and most coaches are already dug in by the time the season is over.

Why would you fire Fisher? He's been a fantastic coach for them.

He's had one bad year.
 
Put it this way.

What are the odds that Willie Taggert, Cholly Scrong, or that Memphis coach would be able to beat us 7 years in a row? Jumbo did, and was close to #8 with a toothpick QB. Glad to see him go.

Why is Taggart considered some elite recruiter? Was he a great recruiter as an assistant? He didn't do anything special at USF, matter fact, his recruiting (on paper) was slightly worse than the previous regime.

This Oregon class is nice but his staff is apparently full of good recruiters with Florida/California connections.

Willie will do ok there. Jimbo was a beast of a recruiter. Look at the OOS animals he pulled from enemy territory.

Taggert is an interesting hire. I think he will definitely do a decent job with lots of potential. I think it could have been worse for us but that’s just my opinion.
