Taggart to FSU; Leavitt stays at Oregon

Who gives a fk if Willie is taking the job

Unless it’s Mike Leach Idc. fsu will have talent regardless of who the hc is and the names being floated are not proven head coaches but that old pirate Leach would be dangerous with a roster of 4/5 stars

If you think Mike Leach is more dangerous at FSU than Willie Taggart I really don't know what to tell you.

Yes he was the only one to recruit Quinton Flowers as a quarterback but still owes that kid for making him a ton of money!

Can anybody name a coach with a losing record at multiple schools who suddenly became really good?
But the recruiting!!

Hiring “recruiters” who don’t win games always turns out REALLY well.

Taggart has some good qualities, but he’s not a big time football coach. He’s hardly coached at the Power 5 level. He’s coached in one bowl game. He has yet to have a winning record at any school he’s coached at. He was never a coordinator. He’s never coached at a national championship-level Program. And probably the best part, he’s not trustworthy if he goes to FSU. I doubt Rick will negative recruit, but other schools will do us the favor of pointing out how Taggart basically tweeted out that he was sticking with Oregon two days ago, and similarly lied about taking the Oregon job when he was about to leave USF.

It’s a great hire for FSU. We will beat them into the dirt year after year while they obsess over next year’s crootin class.

Do you really want to compare resumes?

FSU is due for a Coker, Shanntard, Folden line of hires. Every major program has gone through it. They’ve been lucky with about 40 years of reasonably consistent stability at HC. It’s time to start a down cycle for them, and a guy like Tagfart would be a good way to start it.

Lol this is coming from the guy who crowned Golden "the Don".

If you think Taggart sucks that means he'll probably win a Natty within three years.

Says the dude that crowned Babers and consistently white knights a washed up FIU coRch.

I said Babers is a offensive stud and I stand by that.

Butch is far from washed up.

He's at FIU because he's washed.

29 schools with openings right now have not reached out to him because he's washed.

You can’t recruit much better than what Jimbo was doing. Almost any hire would be a downgrade in that department.

Its hard for me to believe we still have Canes fans that think recruiting > coaching.

If Miami continues to rise up, then Taggart better be an elite recruiter.

That’s the funny part. Jimbo is one of the better recruiters in college football. He did an incredible job landing talent at FSU his first 4-5 years there—and he’s a pretty good coach to boot.

Basically.

Fisher had that FSU roster absolutely loaded. It's tough to recruit better than he did. He was also a very good offensive mind - again that'll be tough to replace.

I was delighted that FSU and Fisher fell out. I don't see how they're going to replace him with anyone nearly as good.

Why? I’m not a Mike Leach fan but he’s got a winning record and he beat Taggart this year. I know he’s been at Washington State long but I’d have trouble believing that they have more talent that Oregon

"That makes me want to put offensive coordinator Mario Cristobal as the favorite to replace Taggart (should he leave). Cristobal is a great recruiter, and promoting him would keep some of the recruiting class together. Jim Leavitt, the defensive coordinator, also becomes a possible solution. But between the two, I like Cristobal as the head coach if you can keep Leavitt running the defense."

Wario has one guy in Portlandia fooled...Is he handing out homegrown "Wario Wowee" at parties?

The guy that wrote that is probably a Columbus grad living out there pretending to be objective about their hero St. Luigi.
