So How Does Mario Right The Ship

Do you know WHY Notre Dame is able to be on a network by themselves? They are THE SCHOOL for a generation of people, they have a fanbase that sticks with them through everything, even though they haven't won a title in 3 decades. Miami fans started bailing after 2003 in comparison. Even with their advantages, ND is a school that was really close to being screwed in regards to athletics had the ACC not bailed them out by giving their non football sports a place to play once the BE broke up. That's not a place you want to be, because it's impossible to be an independent in all sports.

You realize that NO ONE WATCHES COLLEGE BASEBALL OUTSIDE OF THE CWS, right? That doesn't move the needle for advertisers, so our success in that area meant nothing in regards to revenue, nor did it mean anything in regards to viability of Miami as an athletic department.

Our fans keep confusing the economic vitality of the athletic department with the school and interchanges it as needed, to suit their needs. The ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT was losing money at the time, thanks to the awful Big East revenue sharing arrangement. Keep in mind, UHealth wasn't there to backstop losses like they can now(And even then, it's doubtful that is a permanent arrangement) There's a reason why VT and BC wanted out as well. If you were a school that gave a crap about football and were even moderately successful at it, you were giving a significant chunk of revenue to schools that didn't even try, and in exchange, those schools didn't give you anything in return. The old basketball centric, urban schools saw football as a necessary evil, they didn't play it at a high level and didn't care to. It was a clash that predated Miami joining the conference, hence why Penn State didn't join in the eighties, something the BE brass knew was going to bite them in the *** one day(Which it did).
This was addressed in the "Requiem for The Big East" 30 for 30. One of the best ones outside "The U" parts 1 and 2

Will he though? How many decommits will this class have? How many swings and misses now?

NIL bags being equal, why would any athlete with options come to play for bottom tier G5-level Miami when they could go elsewhere with at leaat a chance at winning.

We shall see just how good a recruiter Big Manny Frostoballess really is. With each week, he makes that part of his job harder and harder.
Truth hurts. This was my only fear with Mario. Will he be able to recruit if we aren't winning. He definitely has his work cut out for him and you are exactly right, with each week and loss that jobs gets harder.

That was the Lincoln Riley effect. They came because they wanted to play in a wide open offensive system. Had Mario hired a more passing oriented coordinator he would've gotten great portal transfers
Ehh... I kinda halfway agree with this. Most players already knew where they were going by the time our staff was complete. They were just waiting to work out the kinks of their NIL deals

Cristobal should be a stand up guy like Richt and acknowledge he can't adapt to the modern game, then walk away without making UM pay the buyout. Radovich should then call Lane Kiffin, whose legs would spin so fast while he's running to the airport to get the **** out of Mississippi, it would look like he's in one of those old Scooby-Doo cartoons.

Now we have fans saying I should be patient and give Cristobal 4 years to build a team that can compete in the acc coastal. F$ck that. You are essentially saying we hired Mike Norvell. What happens in 4 years if he's still corching it up and UM is struggling to win games? We give him another 4 years? Or we change coaches and start all over again with the excuses? Nope. Give me a coach that can be remotely competitive with the talent CURRENTLY on the roster. Put together a string of 9 and 10 win seasons and you can convince me to be patient and let the coach figure out how to get the team over the hump. But this nonsense about needing to give a coach 4 years to beat the likes of MTSU, a mediocre TAMU team, and a weak UNC at home? Nah.

Looks like Mario is looking for divine inspiration to "right the ship"

Funny that Miami goes from "being taken advantage of" in the Big East to a parasite on the ACC.

Easy. get the upperclassmen out of here and coach the puppies until they are ready. Our team is young and the upperclassmen are liabilities put there. Njalik, Skinner, and Wesley played well yesterday. I posted in another thread that the rest of this season and next season will be bumpy but I expect 2024 is when we will see this thing start to click and we'll see a much better product on the field when Mannys best recruiting class gels with Mario's recruits.

Shannon Sharpe just nailed it. He said "You need talent, You can't out-scheme a lack of talent".

Recruiting. You can criticize coaching, but the staff wasn’t blowing coverages, dropping passes, and fumbling. The reality is, we maybe have 2-3 guys on offense that would start at other P5 schools. We have 1 DB who’d start at another P5.

We have huge personnel issues, and are experiencing the consequences of Manny’s terrible recruiting. We need two more full classes to be a consistent 9-win team.
Exactly
That’s why it blows my mind how poor our db recruiting is going and that’s directly on the coaches

Dam y'all so negative today, you guys would have fired lane kiffin or Brian harsin or chip Kelly after their first seasons too

It will be **** near impossible for anyone to do what USC did. They have like 50+ new players including the #1 QB transfer, #1 WR transfer, another top 5 WR transfer, top 5 RB transfer..... Yeeeah that's not happening here lol
Exactly some of these guys are delusional, USC signed brought in all that top end talent to their team. Mario came to a team that was a game over .500 last year

Just about everyone we play is out talented at least according to the rankings, but then again I think we are just out Hearted Alot of our guys just flat out have no heart.
