James Coley Continues to impress and improve.

I would like for Coley to be kept. Besides him being a monster recruiter/talent evaluator; he's relatively inexperienced at calling plays and I think he's showing improvement. I have no problems with him at all, keep Coley and Ice Harris, everyone else can GTFO.

Carroll is a good coach and recruiter.

Corley sucks as OC.

I think coley has a ways to go as an OC but what I like in coley is that (unlike the rest of this staff) he has shown he can evolve/adjust with every game.

Coley watches film, at minimum, of his own teams performance. The DC clearly does not watch film since he simply makes no adjustments and never borrows from teams who have successfully defended opponents.

Nothing like a wide receiver screen on a crucial 3rd down late in the game. No coach should be safe on this staff.

Georgia Tech has blitzed on every play on third down on the goal line this season. They showed the blitz and that is why the jail break screen was called. If G tech had blitzed Herb walks in.

That is just football. Sometimes it is a chest match and G Tech picked the right call. If you are a coach you live with that. Get the 3 points and comeback the next series. The problem is there will not be a next series because the defense gives up a 13 play 6 min drive.

Really? I suppose you have every defensive goal line 3rd down they've run catalogued? Puuuuuu-leeeeeeze.

Your rationalization for defending Coley aside, that bubble screen is a horrible 3rd down call for ONE reason: The most basic football tenant is to ensure a first down, you must run a route where the receiver(s) are past the first down marker when the ball is caught. Otherwise, you leave too much to chance.

Not to mention that screen pass is so tired by now, every defense can recognize it when we line up, and our WRs don't seem able to reead which way to go when their blockers are in front of them, electing to go inside each time (where all the traffic is.) Just fundamentally a bad call. And Coley sucks. No more on the job training, he goes with the rest.

Coley is not the issue. How can you judge the OC when they only ran 44 plays. The anchor on this team is Doritos.

Once again the ****** Defensive performance clouds the Offense. Had our D played "good enough to win" everyone would be killing Coley. That was a bad GT Defense.

End thread. Coley was a complete mental midget last night. Lucky for him, the defense was so bad, nobody noticed.

James Coley continues to improve each week. Is James Coley the only one who watches film? It seems like he always makes the right adjustments. We have been saying don't run the screen with Stacy. Now we run it with Herb who does a good Job at it.

We wanted Duke to be more involved in the passing game. Next thing you know we are throwing to Duke

We should open up the middle and hit the tight end more. Boom.. it is in the playbook now. So how does the Offensive staff and James Coley improve each week but Golden and D'Onfrio's defense does not?

I am so sick of Golden throwing the offense under the bus. Golden-"Offense needs to do a better job of using clock and converting to give the defense more rest"..."the offense had two turnovers that impacted the defense" I feel bad for James Coley and the offense. Poor offensive staff and kids can't make one mistake or the defense will give up a 6 min long 13 play drive for a score.

They literally have to play a mistake free game. Our offense again runs up and down the field just for the defense to allow the other team to grind the clock to where we have about 3 offensive possession a half.

NEGGED for ignoring that we have dropped to 127 in 3rd down conversions. You are blind if you think Coley is even remotely competent.

Coley, even with his faults, would be interim HC as of today if I were AD. The Jersey Boys would be packed up and GONE!

He may not have been the largest "issue" but he's complicit too-- he can't/doesn't call a coherent game, his 3rd down call on the bubble screen was horrendous, and our third down conversion rate has every bit to do with his play calls-- at least 50%, the other 50% being execution.

He's as culpable as Dorito-- from game to game its just a matter of degrees as far as WHICH/WHO was worse, or who contributed MORE to the LOSS.

Duke got FOUR carries in the second half against a horrid run defense that he gashed in the first half. Why?

Because we didn't have the ball.

First possession of second half, first play....double reverse to Waters for no gain. Later on, 2nd and 7, pass thrown to Jones, incomplete. 3rd and 7, he calls a freaking bubble screen. We're running the ball on them pretty much at will.

Second possession of 2nd half (in the 4th freaking Q). 2nd and 6, calls a bomb to Dorsett. 3rd and 6, sack.

Kaaya made mistakes, but Coley is a moron. Run the freaking ball. Averaging over 5 yards a pop, and that even includes his idiotic double reverse and 2 sacks, one of which never should've happened if Coley knew wtf he was doing. They all need to go.

another thing about coley that drives me crazy is how slow he is to get the calls in.. I have said it on here before, and Golden has even been quoted about "having conversations with Coley, deciding on the plays." This turns into a ****-show. Kaya gets the plays from the sidelines around 15-17 seconds on most plays. Then you look at how we ran our "hurry up".. again-not kaya's fault..how can you hurry up when the OC is sitting there, taking his sweet time to decide on a play. infuriating (and this is on Golden- because it really was the same under fisch)

You listed two possessions for an entire half. Thank you for proving my point.

We averaged 7.65 yards per play in the game. That's an elite number. The offense would have put up plenty of points if they ever had the ball.

They would've scored more points if Coley had even a glimpse of a clue. IDGAF about 7.65 yds per play. Score some **** points. Convert on freaking 3rd down (127th!!!!). That doesn't excuse that abortion of a defense. I understand we didn't have the ball, but Coley ****ed away both of those possessions. You're way wrong, as usual.

Coley is a 80 IQ in a room full of ratards

Dead at this! LMFAO and so true.

Coley's offense is rated horrendously in nearly every measurable stat, and that's with a stud QB and one of the best talents in the country in Duke Johnson. He's a corch like the rest of em.

And as far as "oh but his recruiting....." I don't recall needing James Coley to recruit south florida back when we had actual coaches. Get real coaches who can win games and recruiting takes care of itself.

Coley is far from the issue , 13 play drives and 300 yards rushing is the issue.
