Hurricanes coach Mark Richt on quarterback situation: ‘Malik is the starter’

I'll be waiting to hear from everyone after the LSU game when Blowsier yet again misses wide open receivers all game long.
Berrios, Herndon, and Langham bailed than man out on multiple **** throws every game by make circus catches. Well, Berrios and Langham are goners, the circus aint in town anymore.
Make sure to include how he was so game ready and obviously our best choice in your assessment of him after the game.

We’re still waiting for you to tell us how his backups couldn’t outplay him in the no contact scrimmages yet they will in real games?

If you actually read the post you'll see i said that Jarren is not an option. read it slowly. It'll come to ya.
First of all, it was a joke. Secondly, I read the post. Lastly, since you want to be that guy, I strongly suggest you re-read your own post. You indeed stated that Jarren was not an option, yet you mentioned him at the beginning of the post as one of the QB's on the team, which makes him an option. Contradiction perhaps? Sure, but that's besides the point.

When you re-read your post, read it slowly!.........I've been advised that it will eventually come to ya.

Again, maybe pulling him for Sheriffs is different than pulling him for a much more talented guy regardless of his class/age.

Going to the bullpen to an youngster saved Saban a national title.

Rosier has hardly earned sacred cow status
You have to get the whole context to understand what Richt was getting at. He said he regretted pulling Rosier because after spending the off season re-watching the games and coach's film, he realized just how well actually played in those big moments. Not just the two game winning drives, but many other times he just used his athleticism to extend a drive and give us a chance. He said now he feels like he should have given Rosier a chance to work through it.

I don't think you'll see CMR reach for the hook as long as the game is in reach. If we're getting blown out, though, and he has to turn to one of the guys on the bench, we may never see Rosier under center again.

He made a lot of big plays in some really big moments. Without it, we’re not going to win.

He made some great plays with his wheels, he ran the ball well and did some things that if he doesn’t do the things that he did, we probably don’t win 10 games last year.

This is how I feel...I truly like the guy...is he an NFL prospect? CFL prospect? **** to the Nah but I like him.

I know some will say well....he wouldn't have had to make those plays had he not fumbled, thrown a pick, etc...I get it but isn't it all relative with this being a team game? How many times did we call fades to 5'9 WR's and watch them not even jump for the ball...that's just an example and I know Malik has thrown horrible picks.

Trust me..I want a Deshaun Watson, Jameis, Mariota...but it seems that most of the NC winning QB's have been guys like Craig Krenzel, etc...why can't that be us?

Cracks me up to see such teeth gnashing after Rick tells the media that the same guy who was the #1 QB after spring practice is still the #1 QB before fall practice. What changed? Or do you guys just like to tremble?
Since the last time they practiced, Richt has suggested he'd lighten the playbook "if we do go with one of the young guys". Does anybody seriously think he'd give Malik anything but a ringing endorsement at the start of fall camp before the other QBs have taken a live snap?

Reporter: "So coach, how do you see the QB situation panning out after Malik's finish last year?"
Richt: "Boy, the freshman couldn't have gotten here fast enough."

Not likely.

Malik deserves a shot to keep his spot, & Richt will probably give it to him - "at least vs LSU", in his own words.

If you didn't catch Joe Rose's interview and Richt's back hand slap at the freshmen for not coming in and working hard like a guy like Aaron Murray, I could see where you might think that. I don't know any other way to take what he said other than them boys are getting out worked by a less talented kid that has more desire to keep his job than they do a desire to take it.

Fair enough. Wasn't sure if you understood my point or not.

But just because a player is on the team doesn't make him a current viable option.

Do you believe that inside Richt feels that way?

I did, & I think he handled it ideally. It's motivation for the freshmen & encouragement for the 5th year senior. I highly doubt Jarren isn't putting in the work. Bringing up one of his old UGA QBs who dominated as a freshman & his comments yesterday about not having seen any of the young QBs show enough leadership just yet should tell you all you need to know. He's challenging them.

I agree with that. Richt doesn’t do the usual coach speak. He chooses his words carefully, and he uses these opportunities to let his players know where they stand and where they can improve as much or more than simply addressing the media.

I want to see everyone in a Miami uniform have an opportunity to be successful and contribute to the overall success of the team, and I think part of that, where it begins, is knowing what’s expected and waiting until they’re equipped and ready to handle the moment.
