Have a hard time believing it's Candle because of his new contract. Nonetheless, I read his buyout from the new 2023 contract is *only* $750K and decreases by $100K each succeeding year.

FWIW, Kendal Briles was rumored to be in Tuscaloosa yesterday… but not sure it was ever confirmed.

My thoughts on this change daily, but I'd love to see a Seth Littrell + Kevin Johns reunion. Hiring Sean Lewis would be another badass move, bring the Dino Babers Offense that everyone wanted here a handful of years ago.

Re: the talk of Mario hiring coaches he's familiar with... I'm pretty sure his final 3 coordinator hires at Oregon (Avalos, Moorhead, DeRuyter) were new to him at the time.

This hire would help turn the "Mario is unfriendly to QBs" narrative. Kittley coached up The Zappening from a no-star whose only offer was Houston Baptist, to breaking NCAA QB records at WKU, all the way to the 137th overall pick in the 4th round of the 2022 NFL Draft/starter for the Pats.
