Some take aways from this game are as follows:

  • Jarren trusting it more and really is developing more arm confidence week to week
  • Jarren had some high level next level throws and is a very efficient cog in this offense
  • Mark Pope was elusive and I felt he finally showed that elusiveness he was known for coming out of high school
  • Miami shored up it's blitz protections and really employed max protections on its play action passes. A few two man routes noted that we very successful
  • Miami continues to be a pro style team that will employ 12 set regularly
  • Offensive line dominated an inferior opponent as it should have
  • Mike Harley touchdown on a pre-snap RPO out on the perimeter shows how effective this offense can be by simply getting its play-makers the ball in space
  • N'Kosi Perry arm looks much improved and his throws outside the hash are prime howitzer class
  • Jimmy Murphy needs to be placed in the concussion protocol for the shot he took by his own teammate

As always InSight Crew thanks for taking a part and watching this newly formatted FTP video series. Please if you could subscribe to the channel and I will forever tip my cap. This offense will be 2-2 next week and then the season will start to get interesting. I do see an offense that is improving week to week and a quarterback who continues to find his stride.

We had former quarterback Ryan Collins on the Orange Bowl Boy's podcast this week and I flat out asked him, "This style of offense will take time to gel true or false?" He responded resoundingly true and unfortunately the Hurricanes took two L's first before it did.

FCS opponent or not these reps are invaluable for a team, who up to this week, has only marched out one senior in its first two games. I think there is another level that these Canes can get to. And I see the power running game being a staple this team will rely on during the back stretch. We shall see.

great work. I truly believe if we were to play the gator and unc maybe the 3rd and 4th game this year after a few cookie games like Bethune and central michigan....we would blow them both out. I sure hope we get the gator in a bowl game...

Great recap as always. I only ask one favor, please use the K button for play/pause. You’ll be official at that point brother. lol

@Roman Marciante great work man but quick Q. In your opinion when is this offense most effective? It seems We move the ball a lot better out of shotgun but Enos continually goes under center. I understand he wants to setup the play action but the rpo has been effective in every game imo.

Its been super effective with his multiplicity. Comes at you in many formation waves and personnel groupings. And the running game has been steady in every game and gets better. Those two jump out.

Roman,

Love the breakdown.

I have no issues running a max protect and this is my understanding.

(If) We run the ball well, especially out of that particular formation, the defense front 7 reacts to see everyone blocking and (even moreso with a fake handoff), they’re in “it’s a run mode”. Makes for an easier completion with our skill guys.

I remember the 2000 sugar bowl and we ran max protection quite often against florida, especially after we started running the ball effectively and it opened up a whole lot more plays out of the same formation.

Again, thanks for the break down on plays.
