Someone point me to the thread on what makes Freeze a great choice that isn’t debunked by SEC shady recruiting. Thank you in advance as I want to learn more about him.

I'll agree completely. But he's at the end of his run and I don't think he's really got enough left in the tank.

But the next coach should be the best coach we could possibly get and if that is Herman, then its Herman (so long as they actually ask others first). Would not be the worst hire.

I would hate it if they pass over a guy like Herman to go get UTEP or Liberty’s coach.

2016: SMU 38, UH 16. Mustangs lost at home 51-7 to Memphis two weeks later and finished 5-7.

2017: Lost his first game at UT to Maryland 51-41 in Austin. Terps went 4-8.

2018: Lost again to Maryland, which finished 5-7.

Also went 1-4 against Oklahoma.

He's the proverbial "smartest guy in the room" and yet dumb enough to get dragged into a text message ****ing match with one of his former coaching buddies about some juvenile BS.

Hate when we make excuses for a guy who can't keep a job at a program loaded with any and all resources needed to be successful.

Just say NO to Tom Herman

Ummm... Im dense and you think straw arguments are somehow valid come backs...

I guess you think Whoopi Goldberg would be a great option because she has never coached at a good school.

Stoops has no offense and has had almost zero success at Kentucky. 28-42 conf record.

Dave Clawson has never even won 9 games... in the same division as Dino Babers who has won 10 games.

Hugh Freeze won 10 games once in a p5 conference and he has more vacated wins than Miami does itself.

There is zero proof that any of these guys would win or even be a good fit here. Zero... but please smart guy impress us with your illustrious knowledge.

Listen, years ago I thought Herman was going to be a Texas coaching legend, but that never materialized.

This university needs to stop taking chances. For once, pony up the money to hire a big-name coach with a proven track record. Sell them on leading a team playing in the easiest division in Power 5 CFB

It can be done. Our fans are too used to settling for mediocrity.

Yeah not in love with those names either. One seems like a poor mans Mullen. (Anyone with a record significantly worse than his in the SEC at a smaller school is a snooz hire for me.)

The other had USC a legit mess when he left. USC being on probation is a legit excuse, and his tenure at FAU was pretty good... I might just be leaning toward one of the younger G5 guys who seem to be ascending. Maybe its Richt, or the track record for them in general but i'm scared to death of coaches that have already failed and especially fresh off of failure. Winners usually win and win pretty quickly wherever they go, and excuses aren't needed.

Is the next Freeze, Meyer, Kelly, Rhule, Campbell etc there for the taking in G5 or go with NFL washouts with "experience", recently fired HC's or Greg fuggin Schiano?

This fertile recruiting hasn’t panned out in 15 years. You need a coach who can deal with the SO FL bs and can develop. Our recruits of the past project higher then others in the crappy ACC but it never pains out on the field. Players have to play and coach needs to coach.
