Todays practice 31st

I thought the Sherriffs hype was over the top last year, and that hype may have moved to Williams this season.

And before anyone gets in their feelings ... I’m not pulling for any specific QB. I just want the best guy to win the job.

But I do remember that the QB line was indicative of the depth chart last year, and I don’t think anything has changed this year.

When another QB is first in line for warm-ups, then I’ll believe Rosier won’t be the starter.

Until then, some of y’all better get with the idea that a 5th year guy still has the ability to improve.
It's not gonna take that much to unseat Malik and I think Williams has enough time between now and the fall camp to make his case. It's all about execution/tempo and I think the coaches would love for someone else to step up. Malik can be insufferable with his low energy and meandering pace.

Obviously just opinion, but I think it will. Rosier has experience. And despite the last 3 games, he's got a good record of showing up when needed. He mostly got his head out of his ahss when we really needed him and that's worth something.

Now, even average accuracy would go a long way towards one of these other guys beating him out, but I assume Richt will place some value in a guy who, though short on accuracy and able to disappear for half the game, showed up enough to win 11 of his 14 starts.

I mean, really. Five spring practices?

Are you people ever going to learn?

I’m sorry, man, but such abject stupidity. It’s literally mind numbing.

.

This.

The OP says his best throw was going out of bounds had Cager not made the best catch ever.

The other throw telegraphed a screen to his WR who ended the play on his back w a bloody nose from CB who jumped route.

Those don’t sound like good QB play to me.

I remember reading his weight the other day, forgot exactly what it was, but it sounded a little on the pudgy side, unless he’s just all muscled out. Has anybody seen him? Is he a fatbody or is he muscled up?
Im just surprised as **** Deejay is up to 220lbs dudes got prototypical RB size right now. Leads me to think he might actually technically earn that rb1 designation, then Homer will be the COP guy. Either way the RB situation is looking great. With burns looking good, it's a great sign, regardless what his weight is.

Nah. Deejay aint taking that job from either homer or lo as a starter. **** be the 2 guy for change of pace. Hes around 220 but its definitely not all good weight. Id like to see him if hes at 220 now drop around 8-10 pounds and chisel up. He def needs the added weight and hes running HARD but i think a lil bit less weight will help him with his productivity if that makes sense. I know it may sound like im contradicting myself to some but sometimes even good weight can be a lil too much for specific body types. Hes still a work in progress as far as that goes. Cant wait to see him get it all figured out. Either way love LOVE LOVE the kid as a player and team member. The one thing ive always gave credit to crab legs winston over is hes a born leader (not so much qb). I see alot of those leadership traits in deejay.

Now here’s a an example of a good Broke post.

Emphasis on long race, as in I don’t think we’ll have any idea until midsummer.

Richt may have a feeling but yea - midsummer at the earliest I would imagine. A tweet in another thread says Kosi' and not even close. Another tweet saying a Miami source says Rosier and it's not even close, Dee giving his input (which is great) adding color about JW's job to lose. It's kind of all over the place and to me this is more of an indication on the small sample size. But, It seems to me Dee has a bigger sample to go off of.

Is Lorenzo Lingard really impressing you right now?

Also how is Travis homer looking this spring? Expecting a big year from him

Your comments on DJ make sense, he needs some more weight but if he can drop a little bit and keep the physicality while regaining or adding explosion it’s better.

I was wondering the same thing about Deejay, it's great he's added weight. But why does the change of pace back need to be built like an Rb1? His move after the catch in space against North Carolina is something no other back on the roster has the moves to make.

He's adamant that it hasn't affected his burst so I guess we'll see. Love the leadership news, he'll be a focal point of the next Miami 30 for 30 series.

God gawd the idiocy in this thread is just stupefying!

Now, after 3-4 practices in pads, N’Kosi is lazy and lackadaisical and basically has no shot. Based on super reliable observations.

Let’s see, what else?

Oh yeah, Weldon needs to transfer tomorrow because he has less than a zero point zero shot.

Our starting QB should be DJ Dallas in a read option offense. This one drips with football brilliance.

The imbecility runs strong in this thread.

Point is - DJ has done everything else - VERY well.

For him in at QB and throwing? When his major threat is to run? And backs are going to close in to help stop him?

You gotta be a dumbass to ignore his capability to throw as well.

Would it be incorrect to assume Deejay is gonna lose some of that weight during the season and maybe that's their plan is for him to get to his ideal weight during the home stretch of the season? Maybe I'm wrong but I've heard players tend to lose weight during the year & just was trying to think about how that might factor in...

Any way it goes - Rick better get Kosi in some games. Period.

As many series as Rosier ****ed away - it's not like we're going to suffer if Kosi gets some series. Every game.

And if Rosier is throwing badly - it won't get worse if Kosi is put in.

Burns man. Some of the most impressive tape I’ve seen recently. You can probably guess what I’ll say next

That’s the thing that I think will be way.... different this year. We will actually have a capable backup who isn’t straight panicking when he is in the game. Sheriffs was unbelievable bad last year in the limited snaps he played.
If Rosier struggles I think you could see Perry and Williams getting into the game.

I agree with those saying lotta time left, I would be very disappointed if none of these guys can beat out Rosier, he's not very good at all.

54% is 54% pimp. You can’t win games like that. The jig is up on Rosier; unless he miraculously starts hitting 60+% on his passes, the opposing defenses have nothing to worry about.

During the early part of the season, including the first game, I would love to see Richt allow Deejay to throw passes (maybe twice a game). I think allowing him to throw as a RB or slot WR is equally or more important than him throwing out of the wildcat. Getting that on film early, will force defenses to respect the fact that a pass from Deejay is an option on any given play, regardless of where he lines up.

From an opposing defensive perspective, he would literally be the focal point of our offense, even though he is not the #1 option. Thats the ultimate deception/misdirection. Linebackers and Safeties will constantly get caught with their eyes stuck in the backfield. Just that added element alone, would make our offense that much more dynamic.

Absolutely...not even a freakin live scrimmage yet and the pads have been on how much?

All of that said, I just can't imagine Rosier has another gear than what he has shown, but if nobody can truly take him down, then it is what is. Looooong way to go tho.

UM

Deejay is the Swiss Army knife of this offense, whether it's playing RB, slot WR, Wildcat QB packages, etc. Im good with him being a guy who can play different roles instead of being the heavy duty #1 guy

Im good with the Lethal Weapon 3 we have at running back(and pray Burns can make it the Fab Four down the line)
