Team will be 4-0 heading into the showdown with FSU

Not entirely true. Duke fumbled at a critical point where we could have taken the momentum and won the game. Love me some Duke Johnson, but putting the ball on the ground there killed our chances.

But still it's a different situation. Louisville, at home, night game, Labor Day, week 1 against a true freshman QB.

This season Miami is at home against a team that only won by 10 points. Abdullah was the main reason they won that game. Abdullah ran for 229 yards on 35 carries.

I mean Duke and Warlord were the only reason we were in the game if you want to go that route

Lol get out with that nonsense if it wasn't for Duke we were blown out. Guy fumbled three times last year and gets talked about like he cost us the whole season

That fumbled killed our momentum in that game, its not all his fault but there should be some blame on him

Bull****. Football isn't won or lost on a single play unless you want to make every excuse possible to absolve the coaching staff of their blame for our losses.

You want to know what killed our momentum in just about every game? Our staff.

And lol @ bringing up FSU, i.e. the game where our coaches showcased their ability to kill our momentum.

You kidding me games have been won and lost on single plays, we just got a turn over and he gave it back to him, like i said not putting all the blame on him, and i didnt put any blame on him for FSU just said he made some bone headed decisions, i kinda got were the coaches were doing putting the ball in your best players hands but were they messed up is them not seeing the player making plays that i agree

We were up by 13 points going into the half with all of the momentum on our side. You mean to tell me that if our coaches didn't go into a shell, that Duke's fumble would have been consequential?

Football games are not won and lost on a single play.

Yes they are and duke didnt fumble in the FSU game it was the NEB, and we put the ball in our best players hands he wasnt getting it done and they should have saw that and they didnt im not disputing that

I agree that we head into FSU with a 4-0 record. If we have more than 1 loss at that point, we might be headed for the worst season since 1977.

First of all, these Duke criticisms are laughable again about how his fumble against Nebraska killed us. We were only in that position of having it close in the first place because he played so well.

Second of all, blaming night games and Labor Day as to why we lost to Louisville in Kaaya's first start is an embarrassing idea. We were in it and the special teams **** the bed and even then it was still close. I also seem to recall the O-Line getting mauled that game start to finish.

Finally, as far as the Nebraska game for this year goes, I think it'll come down to Mike Riley. If he goes the Golden-esque route and refuses to change his stripes and insists on trying to pass the ball all over the place like he did at Oregon State, we'll probably win by 6 or so. If he does what any good coach worth his salt would do and adjusts his style to be run heavy in a typical Nebraska way, I think we get beat by 7 or so. They might not have Abdullah anymore but they still have some big fat guys up front who can pretty much do what they want as far as run blocking goes. They looked relatively sharp in their spring game.

I agree not to mention we get an extra day to prepare for Nebraska. We play FAU on Friday night. 4-0 no question. Nebraska will have a hard time replacing Abdullah, and a lot of defensive starters. Going to be in our benefit that we are playing at home. Throw I we are a well conditioned team. We will wear them down in the 4th. I'll predict s huge game for Gus especially in the 4th

We aren't beating Nebraska....and we will struggle against FAU (Yes: FAU). 4-8. (In fact, I'm being optimistic saying we win 4 games. We SHOULD beat Bethune Cookman, FAU, and Cincinnati AT LEAST. The 4th win should be against UVA, but we know London owns Golden's *** and knows what Al is going to do before Al does. This is a potential 8-4 team that will go 4-8 at best because the coaching SUCKS worse than any college "staph" I've ever seen.}

5-7 will be awfullly disappointing after that 4-0 start....

I WHOLE heartedly agree with this. I've said it before that we will start 4-0, hopes will be high, and then after the FSU game, we will collapse b/c the team will quit on Al. I feel 5-7 with him being fired either before or after the Pitt game.

I don't think we beat Nebraska. I think Al and his two coordinators get out coached. Won't matter that they don't have Abdullah ( somebody else will run the ball up the middle) or we have the game circled (rotflol), or Kaaya, or that the Nebraska coach will throw it all over the lot ( good luck to us on that, our DBs can't locate the ball for **** because their position coach doesn't seem have a clue. )

Golden is too inflexible, and much too predictable.

Play calling is painfully predictable. At other times, stupid.

Defense is predictable.

Enough to make a grown man weep.

4-0 and we'll be ranked heading into FSU. Golson will likely be rounding into form by then.

Golson will likely be rounding into form by then.

yeah i doubt that !... if you mean throwing INT then yeah rounding into form sure..

Golson ate our lunch when we played him at Notre Dame.

It's like people forgot he led an undefeated team to the national championship. Defense was their strength, but he won 2 or 3 games for them.

nD had a freak amount of injuries last year, like half of their starters missed more than half the season, and Golson tried to do too much.

He is turnover prone but still dangerous. He lit up FSU at Doak and lost that game on a penalty that was a 50/50 call at best.

If you Read the spring practice articles, He was the presumed starter before he transferred, it wasn't like Malik Zaire beat him out and then he left. He didn't get along with Brian Kelly.

Plus he has been practicing with "elite" QB guru George Whitfield, so he will be ready if Golden brings out the brooms and buckets defense.

Unreal the lack of respect duke gets from this fanbase

Let's nitpick a handful of plays one player who literally carried his corch for 3 years as to why we lose games vs. Entire series worth of headscratching moments from personal alignments to the play calling itself

With Al and his staph coordinators coaching not to **** the bed, FSU could start the chick that kneed that dopey QB in the balls
in that dive bar and beat us. Fuggedabout beating FSU in Tally with Al. Not happening.

They cannot help themselves. They NEED Duke Johnson to be the goat so they can continue to believe in al golden.

BTW - I had dinner in Vegas with a former player from Nebraska a couple weeks ago. I asked him how the Huskers will be this year, he said, "Its going to be a long year or two for Huskers fans. Mike Riley doesnt have the type of players he needs to run his offense. Dude was expecting Nebraska to struggle a lot this fall.

Perhaps the Canes can come away with a win against Nebraska, but if they do, it will likely be closer to the win against ohio state when they were ranked coming in and finished the season below .500. In other words, it will be another vintage al golden win.
