Team will be 4-0 heading into the showdown with FSU

But still it's a different situation. Louisville, at home, night game, Labor Day, week 1 against a true freshman QB.

This season Miami is at home against a team that only won by 10 points. Abdullah was the main reason they won that game. Abdullah ran for 229 yards on 35 carries.

I genuinely don't feel any sympathy for anyone setting their selves up for disappointment after watching what the staph did with last year's team

Earth shattering prediction here guys! Get your bets in now before someone in Vegas reads this and they change the lines!

Yeah there's a lot going in Miami's favor heading into that game in all honesty.

Miami has started a season 2-0 twice in the last 10 seasons. By the time this Nebraska game rolls around there will be some hype generated and our players will get up for this game, which gives us a shot.

First off, let me preface this by reiterating that I have as little faith as is possible in this staff.

That said, I believe this team has that Nebraska game circled on the calendar. I also believe that the Huskers will have a semi-rough transition in Riley's first year and without Ameer Abdullah.

Bethune - easy win
FAU - should be an easy win
Nebraska - I think we win a close one
Cincy - 10 days to prepare, crushed them last season

FSU - ???

I agree. We should have beat Nebraska, won't bring up the stupid defensive scheme that didn't make adjustments, left people uncovered and gave up 10 yard pass plays in that play 10 yards back non-aggressive DB technique taught only by that generous professional Donut. The other games are gimmies, but certainly won't get you any BCS votes or move the polls. FSU will be the test because the preseason games will be over and there will be no excuse about not having time to gell. Don't show well against that dweeb QB or the Notre Dame transfer and the heat will be turned up. Lose to Clemson, VT, GT and or Virginia or Pitt and Goldie should be history.

I mean Duke and Warlord were the only reason we were in the game if you want to go that route

Not entirely true. Duke fumbled at a critical point where we could have taken the momentum and won the game. Love me some Duke Johnson, but putting the ball on the ground there killed our chances.

Lol get out with that nonsense if it wasn't for Duke we were blown out. Guy fumbled three times last year and gets talked about like he cost us the whole season

You're barking up the wrong tree "down voting" my post and calling it nonsense. As I said, I love me some Duke Johnson. I have a six-month old boy named after him to prove it. Thanks for playing.

Duke had three very inopportune moments last season.

1. fumble against Nebraska

2. cramps against FSU

3. fumble against SC

How does crushing Cincy last season matter?

By that logic, Nebraska will run for 300 yards, and Everet Golson will Lead a 4th quarter comeback that is sealed by a Jalen Ramsey interception.

Cincy isn't as talented, but talent isn't a requirement to beat Golden, and they were a good team the 2nd half of last season. gunner Kiel is a good QB too.

That Cincy game concerns me greatly. Look ahead spot with a prolific offense waiting in the weeds to ambush us in there house. I know we crushed them last year but there QB was nowhere near healthy and there defense was laughable. Could be a shootout.

I hope the OP is right and Miami beats Nebraska. One way or the other, that game may set the tone for the entire season.

That fumbled killed our momentum in that game, its not all his fault but there should be some blame on him
