Stat of the season

Can we really blame Dawson and Mario for the turnovers. Some of these picks are horrid plays by TVD. And a goal line fumble by Parrish. Chaney fumble is on mario

Could they have played Emory? Yes
Can we blame coaches for not? Yes

Very limited targets to Young in the RZ is also coaching.

Miami is now 126th in the nation in turnovers. Terrible for any team, poison for a team that is trying to run the ball and play complementary football.

And this is not to blame one player- it is a team stat that falls on the players and coaches.
it falls on the coaches for playing a broken QB. if we had a competent qb we might be undefeated . we def beat gt and nc state.
TVD is the other teams mvp every game.

He scored a TD vs AM I think, or was it Miami of Ohio on a nice little misdirection pass in a goal line situation.
That was A&M but they threw pass in the backfield. He's had 1 jump ball opportunity in the end zone this season.

Comes down to a lack of discipline. Something Mario preached from day 1 was accountability and discipline. But when the head coach isn't smart enough to take a knee to win the game what do you expect

2021, seems sooooooo long ago. Imagine THAT TVD this year?

This is why I NEVER hang my hat on 1st year starter success, NCAA or NFL.

Every player has weaknesses. Give hundreds of coaches a full off season to focus on all the plays you didn't make, and what caused you to not make them, and they will force you into those plays the very next season to see if you overcome those deficiencies.

The best players know what they stink @ and work hard on those weaknesses so its not easy to key on them.

Coaches were able to sniff out TvD weaknesses and gameplan it. Imo, coach Armstrong at Southern Miss was the 1st to show TvD true flaws in reading pre to post snap coverages.

We won that game but all watching saw exactly what I'm talking about.

Mario is outcoached in every game we play...

He hitched his wagon to TVD from his first press conference, then systematically shot the tires off of the wagon, broke the horse down and recruited no other horses...

Whatever stat that is, is the stat

Totally unacceptable. I don’t care about culture change and physicality. **** what about team focus and discipline. Does this team think losing is acceptable and oh well we’re moving on to next week? Sure seems like it.

Delete that last part please, that's some serious spin. Go tell Restrepo or Smith that those under thrown/awful read picks are on them too. Sheesh.

We hear about culture, yet the team is: disorganized, unprepared, highly penalized and turning the ball over at a high clip...

What are they good at from a "culture" perspective... consistently being "disorganized, unprepared, highly penalized and turns the ball over at a high clip"

Turnovers and penalties are a direct representation of coaching.

Since when? Some of the most penalized teams in the country have head coaches who would - let me check my notes - "kill it here".

Miami penalty yards per game = 65.33

Other notables:
Florida State 65.33
Oregon 64.11
Tennessee 70.00
USC 76.00
Washington 77.44

In other words, three of the top six teams in the country are right there with us in penalty yards per game.

Meanwhile, some of the least penalized teams:

Baylor
Minnesota
Rutgers
Vanderbilt
Florida
Cal

He caught one vs Temple but I don’t think it was a red zone throw. It may have been a longer pass.

But the point is that he is not being used properly in all phases of the game. It’s criminal so why would other receivers not see that and just say, nah, I’ll pass on Miami?

It’s very concerning.

A&M. They actually ran the same play to him in OT vs clemson to get us a first down then Allen punched it in a play later I believe.
I think it was Horton that caught that ball vs Clemson but yes, same play.

#1 in not kneeling so everyone G

Sounds right. And to be completely and 100.0% fair, 3 of these came on the last plays of games that didn't matter at all.

However, even if you take 3 off the total, we've still turned it over 13 times in 5 ACC games. Which is still bottom 7 in the country.

As it stands today, including those 3 turnovers, only Nebraska has more turnovers in conference games IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, and they've played 1 more game than we have. For teams that have played 5 conference games, nobody has more turnovers than Miami's 16.
Mario said "its back to work on ball security"

What point did you think you were making with this? I'm honestly confused.

We talked about this in the Gameday thread I asked where did the creativity go calling plays in the red zone?

Someone mentioned competition being better but I disagree. Results of the plays change when competition changes, but we aren’t even trying anything. The play calling has completely shelled up to an almost Gattis like level. It’s not like we are trying and failing….we aren’t even ******* trying
