Wasnt Davon Johnson and Collier our last recruits from BTW???
Wasnt Davon Johnson and Collier our last recruits from BTW???
If I had to pick between taking Treon Harris as a slot WR or Braxton Berrios as a slot WR, I'm taking Berrios in a heartbeat and its not even close.
IMO Treon would be a great pick up, but with all of the elite WR available this cycle, I would try him at CB before WR.
Mods, now would be a good time to lock this useless thread!!!

LOL how can you say that one of the best athletes in dade county for multiple years can't even compare to a guy in north carolina? I like Berrios but lets not act like Harris wouldn't have been a stud at WR/DB.

And another thing...how am I an Ice apologist? First off, Tito was the one who interviewed him twice and both of those stories were very good. He is a prominent (arguably the best) Head Coach in South Florida whether you guys like it or not. We will continue to run stories with him because he knows the landscape down here as well as anyone.
Is this a Miami Hurricanes recruiting message board or a Let's Suck Off all the South Florida Coaches recruiting board? If it's the latter, let me know now so I can bounce. Ice, Genron, U-School, etc, don't send their kids to Miami, so why the **** do I come on to a recruiting board for MY FAVORITE TEAM and read bull **** articles about guys that hate or don't support our program?? And then you act surprised or defensive when MIAMI FANS get ****ed. We DON'T give a **** about who the "best south florida" coaches are Pete. We care about the Miami Hurricanes. If these coaches and mentors and street agents aren't in support of our program, why post their stories on a Canes message board? Isn't there a South Florida high school publication y'all could run? Sorry for the flame, but this **** was getting ridiculous. I came over to this site from Rivals because of you and your work, but dammit man.

Let's also not act like he would've been a stud just cus he's from south Florida either and is presumably better just cus Berrios is from North Carolina.
Hey guys did know you highly rated DT Valentine committed to Miami and looks like he will qualify too? Also one of the top backs in the nation, a dade county legend since pee wee, who was asked to handle the rock 100% of the time when Central switched to having him and Cook on the field at all times, did you know he also committed to us? Crazy right? Who knew?
Bad move by Harris. Good for the Canes. I don't think he will play at FSU as a QB but better there then here. That will be a nightmare to deal with when him and daddy don't agree with FSU's staff. That'll be their problem. He would be best suited as a QB at like Northern Illinois where they are pretty good but not at a level to win a national title. He will be a DB for sure. He just needs to be side by side with a true QB to see it.
I really think is best case scenario for us. Not only do we really not need him, he won't be happy.
Miami did not want Treon as a QB they saw him as a WR/DB. FSU is willing to take him as a QB and thats all he needed to hear. Treon Harris was vehement in saying that he wanted to play QB in college, but then started lightening up a little toward the end because he figured that's where most college's want him. Now, do you really expect Coach Harris to sit there and tell HIS OWN SON "I don't care if they're gonna let you play QB, you're going to go to Miami." What type of dad is that? secondly what type of coach is that???.
This in no way is Harris ******** UM over, he saw the chance for his son to fulfill his dreams and said "Go for it' and you expect him to hold his son back from that just because you all believe he owe's something to Miami?
Lets get something straight here for the last time, nowhere and I mean NOWHERE in Coach Harris' contract does it say he is required to force all of his top products to go to UM. We are talking about 17 year old kids, the most he can do is push for UM and that's it. If you seriously expect him to force every single one of his kids to UM then you're just crazy.
1. What kind of coach really takes FSU's QB promise seriously and them not just not telling the kid what he wants to hear? What kind of dad?
2. That's not even the point. And no one is upset because he is not forcing or pushing kids to Miami. And no has implied that it his job to do so. That is a straw man and ****ing half. The complaints come from the ****ery he allows when it comes to UM. With allowing his players to play games with UM and use the UM offer and interest to hold "their place" rather than take it seriously. So please, stop with the "you want him to force kids to UM" bull**** because it's ****ing ridiculous and misses the entire point. With your capitalized "NOWHERE" and ****. ****ing Christ.
What kind of school pulls a kids scholarship six days before signing day?, one who Miami felt good with. And as far as the second part, he said it in my interview that he tries to hold his kids back from committing early and just stresses to them to maintain the relationships and wait off on committing. Jackson said it himself that he committed once he got the offer.
you guys are whining about nothing. can you blame him for choosing FSU?
we're not in a situation where kids give up their dreams to play here. maybe if we were a winner at this point, he'd have given up that dream of QB earlier and committed. instead, FSU offered him what he wanted. got to respect that and move on. we got bigger fish to fry. you're whining about nothing with the whole ICE thing

Son then commits early 3 days later --- sounds legit
