Ole Miss Recruiting

Fair enough, but it is 100% projecting.

I mean, he only has 2 of the top 10 recruits in the state of Mississippi? Leach has 4, and even Miami has a recruit from miss that is rated higher than anyone Lane has (khamuri Rogers, No. 3 in Miss).

Jimmy’s & Joe’s over X’s and O’s when you get to the big leagues.
True but name a time Lane was HC at a school and didn’t bring in talent, including FAU.

Lane is not even my top choice.

They didnt have to turn them in...it was plain obvious.

In what world is Ole Miss ever landing 5 stars from Florida and Georgia along with the midwest. Worst they were landing 5 stars theat were bag shopping lol (NKemdiche, Tunsil)
In the same world SMU was landing Eric ****erson and Craig James out of Texas over UT and OU and other national powers. SMU was playing the same game but they weren’t supposed to be threatening the blue bloods

In the SEC it’s the same thing. Ole miss is supposed to be the bottom feeder who has the rabid fanbase but is not ever supposed to outbid/threaten for A kid like Robert I can’t spell his name..or a laquan treadwell..Van Jefferson and mr gas Mask Tumsil etc etc..SEC big boys said hold up..”they got too much dip on they chip”.

Oh yeah he absolutely got stitched up - you can't beat Saban at his own game and get away with it, but it's why Freeze is a bad example.

Kiffin isn't allowed to drop bags to that degree or they'd be buried again.
But Saban let him take his S&C program to FAU and now Ole Miss.

Lane just makes some offensive numbers .....super powers bring in elite recruits and win titles. U ain't winning titles the way Lane does it. It will look nice but we want dominant Miami teams again not some ole miss UCF ****.
I think both Kiffin and Cristobal can bring us back into the national title picture.

I'd be happy with either - they're both a significant improvement on what has come before.

Richt showed what even a competent P5 HC can do here.

Funny how people here talk **** and have never stepped foot in Oxford, MS. For a young man, the female talent is just as good as what Miami has to offer plus they’re the top dog in a nice college town. I like and follow both the Canes and Rebels. The atmosphere for the A&M game 2 weeks ago was insane! This is from a fan’s perspective but tailgating in a parking lot doesn’t compare to walking down the Walk in the center of the Grove. With that said, Lane is already wearing thin and fast if he can’t make a commitment. OM will pay top dollar so it won’t be money why he leaves.

Lane reeeeally went out on a limb with that whole "will take any reasonable offer to coach at UM" leak. I know that any SEC school (except for maybe Vandy) is not happy with that kind of (perceived) disrespect, and the minute Lane stops stringing wins together, it could get dicey in Oxford.

Oh he’d be escorted out by the KKK no doubt

I want first rounders everywhere I don't think Lane can do that. He's Mullen to me a clone

But honestly..what makes you think that? I look at it like this, look at his HC stops; Tennessee recruits Tennessee..what i mean by that is they will usually recruit very well no matter who the HC is. On paper he brought in a solid class there.

USC: again it was recruiting itself after he took over after Pete. He didn’t really have to worry much about SEC powers (bama) because they weren’t really getting started while he was there. He was getting kids that were going to USC regardless at that time

Now Ole miss..8 wins, solid szn with a veteran bunch. Everyone for the most part has stayed healthy for him…but the recruiting clsss..nah
I disagree about Tennessee recruiting itself. They actually have a hard time recruiting bc there is very little in state talent and they are fighting UGA, Bama, and Clemson in their own backyard.

As for Lane at UT his first class was ranked #8 (only had 2 months to recruit) and his last class was ranked #7. They have only had 3 top 10 classes since he left. So in his 2 years he pulled in back to back top 10 classes one of which he only had 2 months to recruit, and UT has only had 3 top 10 classes in the 11 years since.

I think another pro with Mario is that he’d navigate the local recruiting politics better than any of the other candidates including lane.
