Notre Dame's QB1 in the Opener

They have a new DC too, just like us. Freeman will have them coached well but when the bullets are live, Chris Ash is calling plays for the first time in 5 years. They gonna be on the same page every snap?
It's Freeman's Defense & has been since he's been there.

Al Folden was not running the Al Folden Defense at Notre Dame, he was running Freeman's Defense.

Ash will run what Freeman wants, it's not a situation where he has autonomy & calls the Defense to his own accord.

Freeman at the core of his being is a Defensive Coordinator. He's not a CEO type Coach, he's a DC that happens to be the HC.

Not sure why this was so difficult for people to see last season

As I said, ND will peak later in the year. Now is the time to get them because when playoffs come around and they're in there and playing well, it will look fantastic on Miami's resume if their able to win

What do you think the strategy will be? Do think we will stack the box against the run and allow a potential strength in our DB's to live on islands?

Absolutely. I think a 3rd grader could design this game plan. You’d be insane to not let Love beat you and make their completely green QBs win the game. And although Heatherman looks insane, I don’t think he actually is.

hostility? i went to the 2016 game at ND and every time ND scored the fans around me encouraged me not to get down because UM was playing well and it just was a matter of time before UM scored again. we repaid that gentility by rocking their buses and smashing the windows with rocks as they approached the stadium.
I was at the game in Chicago in 2012. When Dorset dropped that TD this drunk ND chick turned around and screamed in my face. I told the guy she was with that if she does that again I was gonna punch him in the face and have my wife beat her ***. They moved immediately and we left by the end of the first half.

I get that but he’s not making the play to play calls.

Ash is, and Golden was.

But for sure, Freeman is the architect and is very hands on with the performance. But he’s not making calls within series. I’m not sure how down into the weeds Freeman gets between series, but I’m sure it’s significant. I don’t think it’s completely irrelevant that they have a new coordinator. Especially week 1, there might be some bumps. I’m hoping, at least.

I think they are gonna be super aggressive brining their LBs. They've got a really good coprs who are big and fast. I think they know they won't get a lot of pressure with their front 4. Our backs should have a big day catching passes if we can catch them bringing pressure. Hopefully run some underneath crossers to beat those even though that's not a staple of Dawson's offense

We don’t have the advantage in every unit 😂

I love our DL, but we don’t have the advantage against their OL

Their DBs against our receivers might be the biggest mismatch on the field.

Their backs against our linebackers isn’t even close.

But we can absolutely beat them. I love our OL against anyone, even them. I love Beck in a big game, at home. I love our corners against their WRs, and I love that the QB they’re throwing out is going to be completely inexperienced and playing in a rabid cesspool of debauchery. We can win, but a very large percentage of that roster just played for a National championship, and they’ve been recruiting and using the portal at an elite level. It’s one of the best rosters in CFB and will be a challenge for us.

This isn’t 2017. It’s college football so who knows, maybe we win 41-8 again, but this roster is much, much better than that **** Brian Kelly was rolling out there.
Obviously! You're going off of last year.....guess that's why we play the game

It was literally 94 here in chicago yesterday. Trust me, they practice in hot weather.
I live on the border of Indiana/Illinois...it's hot no doubt! But, Florida heat/humidity is just different. Kinda like Arizona heat/humidity

No, I’m going off last year and what both teams have coming back, plus new additions. But you’re right, they’re played on grass and not paper. Let’s line em up and see what happens. I like our chances in our building.

You're in denial, the entire first quarter will be in the daylight. it will be humid as **** good luck to Notre Dame's O & D lines

I've lived in both greater Chicago and South Florida. The Lake Michigan lake effect in August causes a lot of humidity. I would say Miami is more humid, but not by as large a margin as you might think.

Me 2 family! I'm at work on this slow a** Sunday! Just trying to get a good conversation going!

yeah 8/31 in miami, those boys from indiana are going to be on oxygen by midway thru the third quarter if not sooner, night or day game. In fact our guys are going to be cramping up also, but the notre dame lineman are going to be gassed. If we have a lead going into QTR 4 we are going to win.

The humidity won’t be a huge issue. It’s hot in Indiana in the summer, too.
Kind of like saying 20* with no wind is the same as 20* with 30mph winds.

Heat index = wind chill factor.

I lived for almost 8 years in Ohio and 45+- years in Florida. There is no comparison. Humidity amplifies temperature considerably.
