The Hurricanes weren’t the only school to have their spring game on Saturday, as the Hurricanes season opening opponent, Notre Dame had theirs in South Bend.

Notre Dame lost in the national championship game in January, they must replace starting QB Riley Leonard among other positions and position coaches. Looking at the Notre Dame QB battle, it seems barring injury, highly touted C.J. Carr ( entering his 2nd season ) will be the starter.

Carr went 14-19 for 170 yards, 2 TD and 1 int. Carr and the other QBs each plays four series. His competition, Kenny Minchey showed signs on the ground but struggled with accuracy in the air. Steve Angeli also had four offensive series. Angeli was inaccurate at the start but did end his day completing the last seven passes for 93 yards including a touchdown.

Carr entered the spring game as QB1 for the Irish, he did nothing to hurt his cause while Minchey and Angeli did nothing to surpass him Carr. I fully expect Carr to be the signal caller on August 31 when we welcome them to Hard Rock. We have to make Hard Rock Stadium literally shake and welcome Carr to big time college football in his initial start.

Notre Dame will have arguably the best Offensive Line in the nation, a stud running back in Jeremiyah Love and a first time starter at QB in CJ Carr when they open the 2025 season here at The Rock. Consequently their game plan will be as mysterious to the average college football fan as a toilet would be to a plumber. Memo to Corey Hetherman.....Stop The Run!

Our offensive line will have something to say about best offensive line in the country. That much I can guarantee you.

stud Oline and good RB.....hmmmmm, sounds like the last time we beat the brakes off of them at the Rock....

Carr is not their QB1 by any definition of the term. Will he open the season as the starter, maybe.

I love how people say they have a stud RB??? When did Love become Jeanty or Derrick Henry that he is just going to tote the tater 35-40 times by himself and lead them to 15 victories.

Gonna need more than that.

Plus as I stated to our resident ND insider on the board, Angeli sucks inner buttcrack and being passed 3 times and he has been there 3 years is trash AF

They have an effective run scheme with better plays, and a proven Championship-tier defense.

Our defense has to make a huge leap, and Carson has to be the truth for us to have a shot. Even then, it'll be close.

I've said this elsewhere, but on paper, if you are objective and take off the fan glasses, this is going to be a tough game. They had tons of post season practice to gel their 2nd and 3rd string. They return a lot of guys. We lost our entire offensive capacity output. Our QB1 missed an entire spring. Defense is a total rebuild job. We have way more question marks than they do.

Only clear undisputed advantage we have is The Rock. If you mother ****ers aren't there 3 hours before, and hurling beer bottles at those team busses the moment they start pulling into throwing range, I will find you and execute you in the blue lot.

Went to high school with Carr's mom. Very nice person. That family has dealt with alot of tragedy given the health of his little brother. Hopefully he does well and has a great career.... maybe just not in this game.

Based off what?

There are 3 kids competing for the job and one who was the leader entering the Spring. The coaches have said nothing about this. Carr is the most talented and it would not surprise me if he is the starter. At that point, he’d become QB 1.

You are trying to hard. Unless someone else transfers in he is and will be QB1.
