ND Game Next Year

Subtract the ND win from our season and replace it with Northern Illinois.

Are still in the conversation for an at large?

If the answer is anything other than “yes we are in exactly the same place”, then the ND game has value.

You are letting the committee’s stupidity cloud your judgement. Winning another meaningless game does not help. Winning the meaningful ones (Louisville and SMU) does.
But this is exactly the point. Who gives a sht about the conversation!

The answer is there is no difference. We beat Notre Dame we’re not in the playoffs. We beat Northern Illinois we’re not in the playoffs.

THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. Fck the conversation. Stick the conversation up the playoff committees ***.

We dominated that game, but 27-24 is absolutely not beating the **** out of them. If we had a 2017 41-8 score, this is a different discussion. Most of the people making these decisions didn't actually watch the game. they see a 3 point win is all.
You just made my point for me. We won the game and got no credit and still didn't make the playoffs.

Play a low P4 team and focus on our tougher ACC opponents and don't even bother with ND next year.

Miami did not dominate the game. Miami won by a FG and won the yardage battle by about 30 yards. They didn’t take their foot off the gas either. Just because ND tied the game, doesn’t mean that Miami let up. People always say that when the other team happens to score late in the game and down by a couple scores.

Miami was the better team though and I agree things might be different with a 10-14 point win.
Ban this fool for mental illness.

PS: **** you and your delusional entitled douchebag fanbase.

We’re the better team today as well. If we played this week, we’d likely beat you by more than we did week 1 lol

Learn from the SEC.

You don't cancel the game. Just get a few ACC coaches to cry about it and Threaten to cancel the game.

People will call them cry babies but the narrative then becomes the CFP standards are not adequate. Then the media attacks the standards while unintentionally backing Miami to be in the CFP.

Would we be in a worse position if we had lost the game to ND?

If we don’t receive credit for a H-to-H win, why take on the risk of losing the game?
We'd be in a worse position if we lost to Bethune, should we drop them too?

Replace ND with FIU and we're not even in the discussion.

For our OOC games I’d schedule three teams from group of 5. Give me FIU, Temple and Marshall etc and then focus all of our man power on the ACC..don’t want any Bethune’s or FAMU, those teams pose no resistance and are just pointless games.

We look spineless if we don’t do something about being left out.

Unless we just decide to go independent or leave the conference asap (not happening), This is the most logical answer. Cancel the game and leave them with their **** in their hands.

i brought this up already....they are already shoed into the playoffs....which is why i would cancel it...they are hoping we stay on ....as we would be one of their good wins and in the middle or late part og the schedule...**** that...i dont care about no catholics vs convict nostalgia.
That USC game isnt locked in on schedule. **** DEMM ...are AD needs to scrap the game.
Oh please. Watch what happens when we cancel. Suddenly Wisconsin and USC are considered dominating Big 10 teams. If USC drops them too, then Mich St is. Or suddenly SMU is an offensive powerhouse. We are not the reason ND is going to the playoffs. People change the narrative to fit ND.

The fatal flaw with your thinking is that if we don't play ND then we focus on LVille and SMU all throughout the Spring/Summer and we don't put on tape anything either used against us and we probably don't lose one of those two and are ranked #7

We did not lose to either of those because we played ND.

LOL - If you don't think Brohm having two weeks to dissect our O & D from the ND/UF games didn't play a MASSIVE factor in the game I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

the point is it makes more sense to have a guaranteed victory beating Miami of Ohio

than take a loss at Notre Dame which will crush your season, or miraculously win and STILL it won't benefit you getting into the playoffs

so the cost/benefit analysis is obvious: DO NOT PLAY TOUGH OUT OF CONFERENCE GAMES

I would say there was some complacency there because our guys thought we already won our biggest games
I think that’s somewhat valid. Our stupid *** conference also did us no favors by arranging our bye weeks in the absolute dumbest possible way. But…that still doesn’t change the fact that we beat Notre Dame on the field and it is becoming apparent that it didn’t matter in any way.
