If/when the committee screws us we should cancel this game.

Add another home game and play UCF.

Will curb stomp them, get credit for a P4 win, and they will pack the stadium making up for the payment to get out of the ND game.

No point in playing OOC heavyweight games any more. Just follow the Indiana model and schedule layups and try to make the conference title game.

We literally got zero benefit from beating ND and UFag other than the satisfaction of beating down a rival and ND has since rubbed it in our faces even though we won.

I don’t understand how so many of you have had your brain fragmented into unrecognizable pieces of misery and madness.

The *only* reason we are in the at large conversation is *because* we played ND.

“Be like Indiana”? And what? Win all of your conference games? Agree, we should be like Indiana, we’d easily be in the playoff two years running if we’d done that. ****, we could have lost one game both years and we are in it.

Stop making yourself defend irrational positions because we have lost multiple conference games two years in a row. Get out of the pretzel factory, face reality head on: we are in this position because we lost to two inferior teams, one of them at home. The only reason we hav a chance to still make it is because we played ND.

Agreed. Plus, I live 4 miles from ND Stadium and am looking forward to seeing the Canes play.

Agree with most of your post. The problem is we don't know if beating ND will give the Canes an actual chance. Both teams have 2 losses and Miami has the head-to-head victory, but is behind ND in the polls. What is the point of any of this if head-to-head is not the first tiebreaker?

We should but I don’t think we can cancel. It’s part of the ACC partnership with those bums. The ACC has to cancel that partnership.

According to ChatGPT, can cancel games but have to pay a penalty. Based on other canceled series:

Miami would likely owe $1.5M–$2.0M per canceled game with ND.

I would have no problem with Miami saying “There is no upside to playing ND. If we lose, playoff committee would say we’re inferior for rest of the season . If we win, playoff committee would make up the excuse that head to head doesn’t matter. We are going to schedule an in-state team P5 like UCF to provide an entertaining game for the fans of both Florida teams.”

If ACC protests, tell them we aren’t playing their stupid games anymore. If they want to deepthroat Notre Dame and pretend it helps the ACC, go get another team to play along.

Yall are being way too outcome dependent. The problem isn’t the wins, it’s the losses. It’s wild I have to explain this to grown men.

I think we should play the conference games early and schedule cupcakes the rest of the season. If I’m not mistaken, Mario has had 3 straight seasons opening 4-0. Why? Because teams don’t have tape yet. He can’t adjust well once teams figure out the offense. So get 4 ACC road games under the belt early, pad the back half with favorable matchups at home. Stick your OOC game there. Win the ACC and don’t have to worry about playoff spots, even with multiple OOC losses. Miami loaded up with non conference first, it’s nice to say we won the state title but all we did was give our conference opponents really good looks at the team. Cristobal is 12-0 in the first 4 games going back 3 seasons. Be smart and use that.

Maybe work on your reading comprehension you little ****.

I said if/when they ***** us. When that happens your main point is ******* moot.

Yes, and both teams have 2 losses. It's wild you need it explained to you as well.
There are a lot more fun ways to prove you’re an idiot than what you’re doing right now, baby doll.

One of the teams has two top 15 losses. One of them has two losses to an unranked team at home and a now-barely top 25 team.

Answer the question I posed: if we had a win against a G5 team instead of ND right now, are we getting any at large consideration? There’s your answer on if we should play the game.
