More players raving about Perry

I'm not the biggest Kaaya fan in the world but I hate how our fans dog on him even when they understand our defense was pushing 90th ranked defense 2/3 first years hes been here and our O-line been very shaky the last 2 years he been here.

Instead of piece meaning an article together as if it's your inside information, you can save a lot of time and post the link to the article.

I know it's just the summer and its hard to get a true idea of how good he will be based on "player ran" 7on7's. However, it's something to be said when his peers seem to be completely already bought in, giving the fact that he hasn't even been on campus for 2 months yet. Several players have now referenced how Perry is making db's and lb's look flat out silly at times.

Writing is on the wall... Perry has that IT factor we havent had at the qb position since Dorsey and the team is already galvanizing around him bc of it.

You're right. There wasn't one teammate praising Brad Kaaya the summer before his freshman season. Denzel Perryman never said he was impressed because he hadn't been able to rattle him.

Oh look there is a whole article about it after he was named the starter.

Absolutely glowing reviews:

Cornerback Tracy Howard said he thought Kaaya’s pocket presence helped win him the job over senior transfer Jake Heaps. Earlier in camp, linebacker Denzel Perryman said there was nothing he or his teammates could do in practice to rattle Kaaya.

“He has great footwork in the pocket,” Howard said. “He has a natural feel, does a great job stepping up and avoiding defenders in the pocket. He makes great decisions. You can’t beat a guy who makes great decisions. Instead of forcing it and throwing an interception, he’ll throw it away. And he moves the sticks.

We all know Brad had little to no feel under actual pressure.

Running back Duke Johnson said Kaaya has done a good job taking command of the huddle. “If you didn’t know Brad, you wouldn’t know that he’s a freshman,” Johnson said. “He comes in, he demands … he lets everybody know what’s the play, what he needs done.”

Considering what you think of Kaaya, maybe teammates praising a QB doesn't mean all that much. Or are those guys really off after fall camp and the 2017 guys are dead on before camp even starts?

Considering kaay had one of the best true freshman season at qb in years where did they tell a lie? I saw a true freshman qb go to Blacksburg one of the hardest places to play and get a victory. Kaaya played with loads of confidence vs fsu that year too

He was 7-16 for 92 yards with one TD. Duke Johnson ran for 249. Who do you think deserves the credit for that one?
A win is a win regardless the stats.

You're an idiot.

He has proved that time and time again..

I'll say it again. If Perry is the starter week 1 we have serious issues. I think N'Kosi will be fine but you can't throw a kid in there to run an offense 6 months removed from HS.

Sure he could be a miracle in the making but I am going by statistics and history. You put a true freshman QB with an average OL at best this is a recipe for a looming disaster.

He could be the best QB on the team right now which again translates into a serious problem.
We are playing Bethune week 1, if we can't beat them with perry at qb then we have major issues.... come tf on

Not to mention three different offensive schemes all three years and a scheme in his last year particularly that he had no business playing in.. But yeah we won in spite of Brad and loss because of him and he was average at best SMH

Our defense ranked 14th in total defense in 2014. Our offense ranked 47th and our passing offense 48th.

Rosier starts game 1

No way Rosier starts over our Hall of Fame freshmans that has the elusiveness and mobility of Mike Vick, the football IQ of Tom Brady, and the pinpoint accuracy of Joe Montana. We may never lose another game again. Dorseys records will be demolished in no time. They should go ahead and get his jacket ready for Canton. We back, depending on the play calling of course.

I know right....like bethune is bama

If perry cant beat them throw the season into the garbage week one

QB performance is a combination of tangibles and intangibles.

Our players have seen a number of QB's with all sorts of tangibles and intangibles. Can't teach intuition.

If Perry has a buttload of intuition - our players are seeing it.

Yaaaawwwn. They are seeing a QB sling it in stripped down flag football (7 against 7) and in a controlled environment. The hype machine means jack **** in that setting.

Let me see the hype machine after a VT game and a bud foster defense and FSU

You're kinda dense, huh?

All our QB's have tangibles. The intangibles include a natural intuition that enables a certain awareness at all times, enabling one to take a bad play and make it good.

Intuition.

You can see it in bird dog pups - before they ever get into the field. If you can't see intangibles, specifically intuition - you're deaf, dumb as ****, and blind.

Exactly, they played at a high level in one game that season vs va tech in Blacksburg. All I remember is us getting our sh*t pushed in by ameer Abdullah and Nebraska..., not stopping the option vs ga tech , Virginia and Pittsburgh especially James Conner running all over Miami...

Nah the urgent crying for the firing of No D from fans clearly backs this supporting argument to drag Brads name through the mud

Lol why cant a qb play fresh out of high school?? Bethune Cookman and Arkansas State are the 1st two games he doesnt have to learn how to play qb from scratch relax with the dramatics

The defense was much better across the board last season and the results for the program were slightly better (bowl victory) bc of it, but really Kaayas limitations as a qb are why we still lost to the same teams regardless.

Wait, we blaming a true freshman QB for not being the #1 passer in the nation? You do understand Kaaya being in the top 50 passer as a true freshman is an amazing in of itself? The Alabama freshman QB has the best O-line, WRs, 1st round TE, top 3 defense and dude finished 87th in passing. JS.

That defense gave up 30+ to almost every conference opponent but VT and thats because their offense was a mess by itself. Out of the 12 games we played in 2014 we gave up 30+ to 6 teams and if you remove the cupcakes we gave up 30+ points 6 of 10 games. That more then half the game a offense led by a true freshman QB would of had to put up 30+ points just to win.

So defenders back then who never applied pressure said he was good in the pocket. He is good in a clean pocket. A terrible defense thought an above average QB was good. Ground breaking stuff.

On the other hand...we have a freshman QB reportedly making a good defense look silly at times. (Reportedly). Great comparison.

When did I say that? You fabricated a 90th defense ranking, I just corrected you. For a defense that was on the field an awful lot (Offense ranked 82nd in 3rd down conversion percentage despite Duke Johnson's 6.8 YPC), it's not surprising they gave up so many points. I'm not saying they were a Miami caliber defense because they weren't.

I'm not giving Perry credit for impressing teammates in a flag football game. That's basically what 7 on 7 is....stripped down flag football

Trot Rosier out there this season as a starter, so we can go win the ACC ship and have a shot at the playoffs. This defense is good enough to take us to the promised land and it would be a **** shame to waste a championship caliber defense on a true freshman QB that will be good for 3 losses all by his **** self.

No, don't throw away the season on a true freshman QB (and yes, that's what we'd be doing). Bring Perry off the bench and give him 1-2 series per game to give him meaningful snaps game ready for this season and for 2018. Use him the Way Urban Meyer used Tebow as a freshman.

We are an 8-9 win team with Perry starting, but we are a 11+ win team with Rosier starting. That math is simple

GTFOH Rosier isn't winning 11

With this stout defense, run game, big time TE and Richards on the edge, I absolutely believe Rosier can get us to 11+ wins. I believe with all of my heart and soul, especially against this schedule. Rosier will manage the game much more effectively than a true freshman, and he has shown he can hit the deep ball (you need that dimension or at least the threat of that dimension with Richards on the edge)

But I KNOW Perry, a true Freshman, can't do it.

If we bring Perry along slowly and integrate him into game situations with 1-2 meaningful series per game (that's about 10 snaps), then we'll be cooking with gas. IF he's the guy of the future, and that's a big IF, because you can never know with QB's then he should be ready to take the reigns in 2018. He will have the game experience and a full spring under his belt.

But we can't tank the 2017 season on this kid. No way in ****. Not with a hellified defense like this!

And you are f cking clueless about Rosier and the game of football. Where are your facts to back up any of the bs that you've posted. Rosier barely won the backup spot last year and look like doodoo in spring workouts and now you're telling this board and fanbase that he will win 11 games...sit your *** down somewhere and stfu

Kaaya was terrible. QB play will be better this year just as a result of him leaving.

This is the same board where 90% of the posters bashed the Diaz hire and said that was a huge mistake. Now the exact same posters are apologizing for Kaaya. Of course once the season gets here and either Rosier or Perry prove to be better, none of them will ever admit they were wrong
