Khris Bogle note

Guys like Bogle, Stephenson, Campbell and Surtsin were never coming and somehow we had enough talent to be the #2 ranked defense. And if Richt’s Offense didn’t routinely go 3 and out and give the opponent great FP every other possession we would’ve been even better. So we have the talent and if we win consistently we’ll get some of these guys when we stop losing to BC, UVA and Duke. I’ll guarantee that if we pull off an 11 win season with all the momentum we have right now that this D staff, #2 ranked D, will magically become great recruiters over the next several years.

According to you those recruits were never coming yet our staff was still on them until the bitter end wasting time and resources, yet they aren’t suckers? That’s a small list too. There were many more kids who turned down this “#2 Defense.” Lol if you believe that ranking. The staff isn’t the only sucker.

Just stop. The idea that these guys were never coming here is something you tell yourself to feel better about losing them. It removes responsibility from the staff.

The fact is that most of those guys had Miami CBs from Insiders plugged into the recruiting world. The staff recruited them until the very last minute. We just lost those recruits. Which we do too often on the defensive side of the ball. Which is why we are grabbing for every transfer and grad transfer with a pulse.

Winning isn't going to cure that. Until we go out and hire a legit recruiter, we are going to continue to lose these battles.

We did hire a legit recruiter. And btw, when it appeared we were "winning" under Richt, his staff of recruiting liabilities was putting together the best class Miami has seen in years. Weird how our class fell off a cliff once we regressed to the mean and started losing every other week. Winning cures 90% of the problem.

Which was carried largely by recruiting wins on the offensive side of the ball.

We also had the class pretty much locked up before the season started and the wins came. Unless you’re trying to pretend like winning 9 games was “winning.”
The class closed poorly, even with the 10 win season and the excitement behind it, because that’s when e a lot of the defensive “battles” were decided. And we get bent over for most of them.

Wish this saga would end already but Diaz going in home with Bogle today. Guess they will be trying to push him to take an unofficial this weekend

I know you can’t just stop recruiting a top SF kid but do you know the psychological pain that Bagaloon Bogle would endure if we took Boykin, Hill, and Phillips and cut all communication with him? After 12 hours of not getting attention he’d start with the cold sweats and shakes. Within 24 hours he’d be a vegetable curled up in the corner. He’d never recover.

I think 2019 is a poor sample size to really ridicule this staff. **** they were fully assembled less than a month ago and we are still nabbin’ dudes.

Going from bible study at 8pm to a pair of Yeezy cleats by out jersey is a complete 180.

Let this staff fully plant the seeds of what they’re about before expecting results.

As far as Bogle We’ll nab him in the portal next year. Bet on it.

Defensive staff really could use a recruiter. Whether the kid is a clown or not, the fact that we don't seem to be one of the teams, despite how much effort we've put into him, is not a good sign. The defensive recruiting continues to be a lot of swing and misses on the top tier guys. They can't all be clowns.
Most top tier players require top tier money and I don’t think this kid is the exception.

What’s the comparison between Peppers and Bogle? They are totally different players hence why I said you don’t know football.

Well so far, none of them have signed with us, so carry on! But whoever peppers and bogle, it better be pepper jonhson and not julius peppers, cause no way bogle is on julius level as an athlete!

Who says we didn’t pay them

In that case why didn’t we pay for the defensive recruits?

So we won a bunch of top tier offensive recruits last year that let us buy them on credit?

This is an important point that is too often ignored. Under Richt, our offensive recruiting was far superior to the defensive recruiting. The top 10 class in 2018 was largely driven by the offensive players.
