JuCo Hooks: Coach Franklin is like a relative

We've had plenty of Juco's get through admissions...not sure where that sentiment is coming from.

I'm sure Miami has looked at his transcripts and know how important all recruits getting in this year really is...especially at DT.

I think they request the transcripts before the visits regardless to see if it is a waste of time.

Franklin sounds like the top recruiter on our staff besides Golden. All the recruits and their parents seem to love him.

kid is/has been trained by David Irons sr/

father of former auburn/nfl guys Kenny and David Irons....they say dude didnt miss a workout all summer.....was a b-ball guy..still is..as he plays in juco...but has great feet as u can see in film ....

if his grades is right we should be able to pull the kid....i dont think an ATLanTa Metro kid fits in Nebraska...now Ole Miss i can see..

There's more to it than just getting these guys through admissions. Not saying Hooks is an example but you constantly see SEC teams recruit guys knowing they are sending them to JUCO (and its D linemen very often) and they put them on a plan that will get them in, often its not enough to get into Miami though.

Not very often do you see an elite DL go through JUCO and end up at Miami. Obviously not saying it can never happen or won't but its happened so many times over the years that there is obviously a connection and a "system" if you will.

It takes detail and organization, you have to be sure from the very beginning of what the grade situation is. If this were Randy Shannon, I wouldn't have any hope, but Al seems like the type that identifies a guy early, does the background check, and is sure that he can get the guy on campus

Yes sir, absolutely agree there and it was a point I forgot to make. Shannon was unwilling to play the game so having Golden in there now, I expect these things to change.

Who do you think the staff prefers - Hooks or Bradley? I understand they are different types of DL, but who do you all think is valued more by this staff?
SEEMS like Hooks due to his raw ability and ability to play multiple DL positions (DT, stand up rush DE, etc)

Hooks is the apple of the staff's eye but they like both.

JCGridiron.com just named them the top two JUCO players in the country, with Hooks #1. Said that it was the best JUCO defensive lineman class they'd ever seen.

Right on time for us. It would be crazy to get the top two guys when we needed em most

F it - sign up all 3 juco guys and have them make an instant impact on D next year. Our team will be instantly better. I'm guessing there's 1-2 more DL slot. I'd hate to have 3/4 of the DL class be juco, but this class seems unique in the amount of talent in it and we have a huge need. If we take those 3, I'm guessing we have 1-2 more schollies to hand out between bostwick, Bryant and Williams. It's possible that we lose out on those 3. But, if Moore and ivery are promising, give me Williams.

It's sounding like Bostwick may miss out due to grades so this may all work out for us.
