You're arguing a losing battle Vern. Logic tells you everything wasn't on the up and up. Maybe grace and AQM got harsher punishments than they deserved (maybe not) but ain't no way you can deny that they were getting benefits they shouldn't have been.

I don't know all the details of the situation so I won't give an opinion. But it's not paranoia if they really are after you.

This is what it all boils down to. Miami didn't want the NCAA involved at all so they cut ties just to be safe. There is a reason Young is able to go to Marshall without facing any penalties. The fact that Grace and AQM are also being allowed to finish their degrees is also strange. There is no real proof of wrong doing but we all know something went down so Miami is just washing their hands of the situation.

Nothing really strange about allowing them to finish out their academic year at UM as they were cut loose too late in the summer for them to be
able to latch on to another program.
It's the decent thing to do regardless of what they did and, also, you don't want these guys having too much anger at this school and potentially
causing more problems (e.g., running to the media). Keep them close by.

I cant think of any other time a player was kicked off the team for anything but allowed to keep their academic scholarship. Way too much money to give to someone who knowingly broke rules and lied about it. I still don't believe the school had any actual proof other than the word of Youth's ex and what the players admitted to them.

Because the luxury car rental place owner has already admitted to lying once. Also, Grace came out and said that he expected that Grace and AQM would only have to pay back what they owed in terms of benefits received and was shocked that they were dismissed (expected a suspension).

Yet Grace and AQM's sides are saying that their respective family's paid for everything and have receipts. It doesn't add up on their end.

I'm of the opinion that we just don't know all of the details, but I will say this:
Miami and it's players need to either not cheat, or learn how to cheat and not get caught.

I know for a fact that there is a loophole in the NCAA rules that is abused at other major programs.
It's very simple, there is no limit to gifts from parents. The players' parents sign adoption papers
over to the boosters and their new kid can get whatever he wants. Happens every day of the week
and ten times as much on weekends and holidays. We'll be alright.

If I remember correctly, Jammi German lost his eligibility for something I can't recall now, but I think it had to do
with messing around with an agent, and this was also during a time that UM had just been placed on probation.
Anyways, if I recall, he was allowed to attend school and was actually on the sidelines helping the coaches.

I'm no insider here, but there is probably more to this story than we will know, and we don't want to know.
To say the school doesn't have any actual proof is naive.
In fact, the burden was probably on the players not the school, and they apparently didn't satisfy the concerns
of the former.
Players just don't get cut loose for nothing.
