Grace attorney claims he didn't get a fair shake

Of course he got railroaded, but that happens when the program is on probation.

There is no need to railroad a kid just because you are on probation. If Grace, as his lawyer suggests, provided all documentation that the vehicles were rented legitimately, then this is a travesty.

Your missing the point...

They all lied and they are still not being completely honest.

Why do you think the rental agency mentioned something about test drives? Because the one incident was not the only incident. They can prove they legitimately paid for one usage, but the others? well lets just call them test drives.

What do you think your boy was saying when he said we will all pay them back? Because he knows that not everything was paid for.

If this was as simple as a purchase that you have receipts for then there would be no lies and there would be no hanging chads.

Another issue I see is that Jermaine utilized a criminal defense attorney. Those guys are not in the business of proving innocence. They are only in the business of bringing in doubt that your 100% guilty. You see his lawyer is crying about having to prove his innocence and admits to him lying. Well a defense attorney is going to be ok with not being completely forthcoming so you don't incriminate yourself anymore. Problem is that logic gets you kicked off a team by college standards and when the U is also on probation its a guaranteed dismissal.

Also there is some memorabilia side to this that no one is talking about.

He probably didn't, but this was a function of our being on probation or whatever, and we couldn't take the chance. Though i wish we did.

Every school knows that the one thing the NCAA cares about is receiving impermissible benefits (I explained it before, it threatens the college football business model). Easy to connect the dots with the few facts we know - players alleged to have received impermissible benefits, school compliance calls "The Wolf", an independent consultant who is closely connected to NCAA and shows him what they have. The Wolf takes one look and says it is almost a guarantee that the NCAA will get involved, and with school already on probation that could mean near death-penalty. UMs nuts are in a vice. UM gives Grace and AQM an opportunity to explain the situation, but AQM and Grace deny everything (Coley plays ball which is why he'll probably get a few games suspension). If school compliance reports that players deny allegations, NCAA launches its own inquiry (again, this is the ONE thing they care about). If it turns out that school compliance failed to investigate properly, you are looking at "lack of institutional control" and Miami is DONE. School did what it had to do to protect the program. You'd be crying a lot more in a year or so (NCAA investigation would take forever) when the program would have had to forfeit the entire season, gets 25 plus scholarships taken away for next five years, and Grace is in NFL making millions laughing all the way to the bank. Don't blame the administration, blame the knuckleheads who put the school in this situation. You want free rental cars, get a Ford Focus. When you go to South Beach Exotics and drive Ferraris and Lambos, there isn't much of a way to bury the proof.

He is not even an attorney according to the Bar's website........and his social media accounts are littered with pictures of players at combines. Since he most likely lied about being an attorney maybe he lied about dealing with UM.......but if he was dealing with UM on Grace's behalf and submitting false info during the investigation......probation or not.....Grace had to go.

Don't put yourself in that position when you know we are on probation. I'm surprised they didn't come after AQM before based on his social media. You would think he was in the league

"When [UM’s] lawyers were involved they did take attempts to circumvent us. They would meet with Jermaine, send him text messages without my permission. It was some shady [expletive]."

Could we see some more attorneys disbarred? Contact with a represented party outside the presence and without permission is serious crap.

first off, its not a court of law. second, i tthink it might have been an overreaction at least as far as Grace but i dont believe they are trying to sabotage the program when they just dumped huge money into Richt, his assistants, a new facility, etc

For an attorney it doesn't have to be a courtroom. You are not suppose to contact a represented party without their attorney or that attorney's permission. It could be for a cup of coffee and still be unethical. I made no mention of sabotage but since you did, the money got "dumb" because there was a full fledged fan and donor revolt happening. We were flying banners over OTHER teams stadiums. Do you think the ACC was happy about all that. Mark came cheap and as damaged goods. They got lucky and bought a couple years of peace and ticket sales at a discount. Do not mistake it for more than it is. They want to keep the money pump primed, not rebirth our great tradition -- that they, always have and still do hate.
