Give Richt a pass in 2016. Yes or No

Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to believe, but I think Kaaya is the biggest issue.

After the FSU game, I thought it was the playcalling. But Kaaya is playing horribly. I *think* one major problem could be that he was more comfortable in a "check with me" system where his reads were predetermined. I think Kaaya is struggling with progression reads. Richt alluded to it in his presser. He said he needed to do a better job of getting Kaaya comfortable with cutting the ball loose.

Kaaya isn't processing information well. Period. There were clear examples of guys wide open and Brad not pulling the trigger.

At the end of the day, It's Richt's fault for not getting more out of Kaaya, but I think what we're seeing is Kaaya struggling with a "pro style" progression offense. We kinda just took it for granted that Kaaya would show mastery of the offense. Either things click for Kaaya, or we might have to scale things back to a one-read offense.

Couple things. Yes you are seeing what you want to see. But yes Kaaya is also struggling too. Unfortunately, he's struggling BECAUSE of Rick. He wasn't struggling like this for this extended amount of time at any point in his first two years.

Second, how are you guys seeing all these open receivers on the TV view because I think that's impossible?

they arent open. i was at the UNC game. and when they were open the dropped balls.

go back and look, we went 6-7 with duke mother ******* johnson having 2043 yards from scrimmage.

Yes. But we are talking about one year. That isn't much rope. And if he hopes to turn it around, he holds the OC accountable before next season.

I'm not going to give up on him but I'm discouraged. We should be better on offense.

and Louisville should have been better on offense when they got Petrino.

But it took him 3 years to get his offense together.

There isnt an OC in the country worth a squirrel fart who could coach with Searels and Kaaya.

You couldnt name ONE!

MOST Ocs nowadays are bailed out by dual threat QBS.

We dont have that. Yall are delusional, man.

Who hired Searels? Twice.

I wanna see him with a real Quarterback first before I drop out on him

nope.

It may be his 1st year, but I've been seeing the same thing for at least the last 5 yrs.

Say what you want about what he did at UGA, the one thing he NEVER did is MORE with LESS.

It's groundhog day with this squad, except now the incompetent buffoon at the helm is on the offensive side of the ball.

He is Al Golden on offense. I've alrdy seen enough

He went 13-1 and almost went to the national championship in his SECOND season with trash @ss georgia

that's only 1 real season with "his" recruits

I'd say that's a massive overachievement

real QB? Kaaya was projected as a 1st rounder before the season started. None of the 3 guys that have beaten us will throw a pass in the NFL. How come those coaches can get something out of nothing but we can't get our "1st round QB" to string more than one drive together?

Yeah he went 13-1...... 14 years ago. You know who also did really well 14 years ago... in his FIRST year?

I said this was his worst hire. He just has to correct it.

We gotta get that guy outta here.

Richt isnt good enough to mask Searels with playcalling. We were better off with Bob Bostad.

Team plays with no heart or emotion, which is a direct reflection on him. No free pass from me

His worst hire was making himself OC and QB coach. It's too much.

Rick hired him twice, so he must think pretty highly of him.

I'd rather Rick reassign himself as QB coach and hire an OC. We look disjointed and incomplete as an offense almost like we don't have enough time to prepare. Rick is an older dude and is spreading himself too thin.

Weren't we 9-3 last season? We're 4-3 and really didn't lose much from last years squad. It's too early but it's not looking bright

Saban first year in Alabama

Carroll first year at USC

One of the best Potato talking points. Yes two coaches with tremendous success don't get the benefit of the doubt.

We have the worst offensive line I've seen at Miami in over ten years easily. We gave up 8 sacks tonight smfh. You can't call plays around 8 sacks we were screwed from the beginning

We have a qb who can't stand in the pocket under pressure and has made very costly interceptions (fsu endzone comes to mind) .

What changed from last year?

We are a blocked pat and a unc td that shouldn't have counted away from being 6-1. Yes those are ifs but that's how close it would be from posters on here excited about the season... But now trying to get rid of him

You realize that those plays ONLY TIE THE GAME. I believe you have to win the game. That means score more than the other team.

Richt has his deficiencies but our players deserve some blame as well

Of course. But his offense, which he calls the play for, is a large part of this blame.

Coaches standardly get 3 years at universities to judge

Considering this isn't a rebuild or some abnormal situation (crippling sanctions), it doesn't. Why most aren't calling for Richt to be fired, we're calling for him to quit being an OC. He is bad at it.

There was a bootleg where he had Njoku wide-*** open on a cross. It would've gone for at least 15 yards. Brad was staring right at him, yet didn't pull the trigger. He ended up throwing the ball away.

On one of the sacks he took, he had Njoku open in the middle of the field on a curl. He had Coley open deep frantically waving his arms. Again, he didn't pull the trigger.

There were a few other examples. I'll try to look once the game is posted on YouTube.

At the end of the day it's Richt's fault for not having Brad ready, but the kid is really struggling. Just not trusting what he's seeing.

The only reason dudes are giving him a pass is because they know he's going to be here a long time, and they just can't bring themselves to accept we're going to continue underachieving as a program. So, for their own sanity, they need to blame it on Folden and the players.

Also, some are potatoes.

I don't think people realize that we went 8-4 during the regular season last year with almost NO COACHING. That schedule was a lot harder.

Richt is one loss away from matching that total. That is pathetic.

That OL and that QB was the same last year.

The defense is 100 times better this year.

I'm not going to give up on him but I'm discouraged. We should be better on offense.
DMoney

So how would you scheme around the weaknesses with the OL? I also expected a lot more out of the offense and I thought we took a lot more shots downfield early, I didn't have the chance to watch the whole debacle though.

No.

Richt is the HC and OC and if we had a competent offense, not spectacular, just competent, we might not have a loss. We all knew the defense would improve under new leadership. Despite the youth at LB, the defense is still light years better this year. One coordinator is earning his check, the other is not.

Which of the guys playing right now did Searels recruit? I'll wait.
