Give Richt a pass in 2016. Yes or No

Richt is our corch for a long time. Not going anywhere. Pray he hires a good OC and locks down South Florida recruits.

If he hires an OC after the season and shuffles the offensive staff and philosophy, I'll consider 2016 a wash. Now, if he keeps things the same and shows Golden's stubbornness, then this is what it is and our expectations better get in kilter. We'll be a 9-3 ceiling program.

I can't give him a pass on the O game planning

Some of his hires on the D side have saved him for this year. Also the helping with the IPF.

So I'm at 50-50. It's a push and gets him to another year in my eyes. Especially considering it's year 1.

If we see more of the same next year, not going to end well for him in Miami

I always said 4 to 5 losses even if wegad my guy butch i never trusted anyone could tur around what i saw last season. People scream nfl players but butch was putting studs pro bowlers out thre and we putting guys who wo t last 5 years in the nfl.

The only reason dudes are giving him a pass is because they know he's going to be here a long time, and they just can't bring themselves to accept we're going to continue underachieving as a program. So, for their own sanity, they need to blame it on Folden and the players.
And thats precisely where my angst comes from. Knowing objectively that he isn't going anywhere, we aren't going anywhere with some crootin. The golden talent argument is pure bunk. It's coaching and it's not looking good. Rekt was supposed to Harbaugh/Urban us.

The weak Saban 1st year comps are the same Golden type bunk recycled...again. See Herman and Fuente.

We reasonably expected Harbaughesque improvement. 9-3 was the floor for most of those giving a pass now...9-3 seems ridiculous all of a sudden.

No.

He was billed as an offensive/QB guru taking over a team with multiple NFL players, and yet every single aspect of the offense has regressed horribly

So how would you scheme around the weaknesses with the OL? I also expected a lot more out of the offense and I thought we took a lot more shots downfield early, I didn't have the chance to watch the whole debacle though.

Spread the defense early, quick game, horizontal passing, take the **** out of the pass rush. Then pound them later in the game.

No.

I talked about all this in detail over the summer. I warned about Richt having no fire in him, which translates to his players. I warned about Richt's offenses consistently not playing well in big games. What we're seeing here are patterns that were already long established at Georgia.

I'm glad it's only taken Miami fans 7 games to figure out Richt shouldn't be calling plays when it took Georgia fans 6 years. I've said Richt is much better than Golden, and probably the best we could've done, but far from a homerun hire. He's not an "elite" coach. Just bite the bullet on this season and cross your fingers that once it's over Richt makes a good OC hire, and kills it in recruiting.

it doesnt take an elite coach to win 10 games or the coastal in the acc.

8 teams have won 10 games since 2005 in the acc and it doesnt include the canes.

if players aren't catching the ball, we lose. if the ol is not blocking our db's cannot run. if the ol is not blocking, our qb doesn't have time to throw. if we are short on people/scholarships because of sanctions, we lose. if we have massive injuries on D and O, we lose. take a breath, calm down. we have to rebuild. thats why we hired an experienced coach. he was hired at UGA and took over a horrible program and built it to a power. Richt is planting the seeds. he is making it cool again for the locals to support us. he is at the parks pumping up the little kids. he is making it a family again. it takes time.

And I thought we did that on the first drive. I only had a chance to watch the 1st and the 4th so I missed a lot of the game and realize we went back to running straight into 8 man fronts.
