I'm a true old school cane fan, and I know enough to respect the Noles and any player from that squad that might give us trouble. Hated Deon, but respected him..hated Ward, but respected him..hated Sammie Smith, Vanover, and so on, but respected those guys. Those guys play us tough, and scrambling QB's traditionally give Miami fits. And when you pair a QB that can make plays with his legs with a big time RB like Cook, then your defense better bring lots of heat and be able to plug the run or else you're going to have problems.

I respect the Noles, hate the gators and domers.

I'm not saying the kid isn't talented, I'm saying that I'm honestly not shook because he was playing a defense that is objectively awful (look at the stats). If this had been a Canes frosh qb, 60% of the board would be trying to pour cold water on the performance. That's reality. Just like I don't read much more into our performance beyond that we look more fundamentally sound (form tackling esp.), I don't read much into frenchies performance other than he looks like he can pick up yards with his legs. Tough for any team. In terms of throwing ability, hard to say whether success was a function of talented wrs. In other words, the qb for the #4 team in the nation mounted a comeback against the second worst defense in the SEC. Doesn't sound quite as impressive if you say it that way.

Ole Miss is hyped up because they are in the SEC and beat Bama. They are still Ole Miss to me. After losing that DL they are about average to me.

Kid is decent, but I'd have to see him play more games before I annoint him. Plus playing us at home in that building. I like our chances to Fluster him. His completion percentage was not all that. I think Kaaya is a great player, potential #1 Qb next year with a good season. Just saying if you are consistent in how you judge players and take away the name on the jersey the kid played **** well for a first game.

Vs an SEC defense? Oh my, they must be good. Let's check the stats: 2015 Canes vaunted defense was ranked 38th in total passing yards allowed. Ole Miss was ranked 104th out of 127th.
