FSU to allow fans and tailgating

I don't believe that....but, if it's true...thats sorry af...

Well maybe not this year, but next year maybe, we should have a thread “post a picture from the game”, and that’ll answer the question

I mean one of the reasons I make this assumption about attendance, is that you hear very few posters talking about their experience at the games. Yes there’s some but not very many. Sure I think many posters here have attended a game at one time or another, but we’re talking about regular attendance here.

Bingo. A little common sense goes a long way

No matter what you personally feel, increased case counts around the sport and players are one step closer to cancellations. That's not political conjecture, it's just simple fact at this point.
Who cares about case counts?.. most are asymptomatic. And if you have not noticed deaths are down like 70% in the past months and % positive was 6% last period... cut in half.

What % of MLB players are currently in an ICU? or even hospitalized? What percent of college students who have been on campus for weeks are in an ICU or in a hospital?

Time to end this. College students have a far higher chance of dying in a car accident yet they keep driving.

25% capacity and tailgating.
Hopefully Miami follows suit even though they said back in June that there would be no tailgating at HRS this season.
The % of fans at UM games is limited specifically by the Dolphins. UM can have the same or less fans as the Dolphins. IDK if the Dolphins have released their seating plan. I'm sure they're waiting as long possible hoping the local community Covid-19 numbers come down.

how dare you use logic here!

Well the cases are definitely down, the trend line is pointing to a much reduced number by September to late September, and hospitalizations are definitely down. In fact, the hospitals were never overwhelmed like many on here were predicting, and covid hospitalizations have markedly decreased over the last couple of weeks.

How do you rationalize limiting attendance at all (especially at an outdoor stadium) but then allow tailgating? Player safety was never going to be compromised by fans in the stands. Stadium personnel safety and social distancing within the stadium become essentially irrelevant if 20-25k people (possibly multiples of that) were just congregating for 12 hrs prior minus any distancing or masks.

Unless I'm missing something here but there's probably a reason we've only heard this type of planning from the braintrust in Tally. I'd personally be ****ed as a season ticket holder that they'll seemingly have no problem with me partying outside but may not let me in the actual stadium so as they can try to play it both ways on the p-r and legal fronts.

Bro, #canesfam is walking menu of cobormidities.

What about the feast? That’s one guy that definitely needs to be hiding in his closet.

Tailgating fans shouldn't give it to the players. Just got to keep them distanced.

It's not just fans that tailgate. Students tailgate and then walk around the same campus, using the same facilities as the players.

Also, some of those fans then go into a stadium, where most likely they'll be walking by, sitting near or using the same bathrooms as parents/family members of players, who then may interact with the player.

It's one thing to allow a certain number of fans but opening anything to tailgating means beer and bad decisions. People don't need help making bad decisions.

whatever fsu does has no bearing on miami. We follow the fins for this and north and south Florida are very diff.

Do you know what the parking lot of HRS will look like if they only allow 15,000 fans (based on 25% capacity) of HRS in the game? There would probably only be at most 10,000 people in the parking lot prior to the game. You can put cars 20 yards a part with that small of a crowd.

Should we ask every person as they walk in how many people they’ve been around the last 48 hours? If you are that concerned about what other people are doing, maybe it’s safer for you to stay home.

Hahahaha. Truth. I personally have been wearing a Hazmat suit for years when I venture over to the Blue Lot though because a) it makes it more difficult for them to try to squeeze me into a bodybag and b) there's a meningitis breakout at least once per season over there.

You're expecting a rational response from the folks at sfpoo?

But those students are going to party together regardless of a game as seen by UNC, ND, etc.
