For Those Who Haven't Seen - RE: henderson, dean, smith

Yall want a kid who quits on his team? How do yall know he wouldn't do that here? He wasnt going to start here from the start, im cool with the staff telling him off about it, if you commit to something go through with it no matter what

if sean taylor wanted to committ last minute u would let him......and he quit an all star game lets say.....would u take him or let him go to fsu?

bang ther

Depends on if I believed ST was going to man up or sit on the bench and sulk every time I didn't put him in the game. Knowing how ST turned out, sure you put up with that but there's no reason to think this kid is that kind of talent.

Don't know if this is true, but if so I'm down. No point in wasting a scholarship on a kid you think will spend his time throwing tantrums.

ST did go to Killian where he did not start then switched schools

Don't know what's true or not but the CanesAllAccess interview with Rumph and the other stuff we heard about Dean it does make sense.

Either way, Colbert is one of my all time favs. Guy was only here for a year but is so appreciative of what the U did for him. I'm rooting for him to get picked up in the NFL. Hopefully Green Bay will give him a shot, dude is a player and an upstanding guy.

lol at the staffs feelings getting hurt lmao i cant lolololol......these guys r winners cmon they know they need ballers......this see,s like bs all the way. i like dee but he was way off on alot n this domt see, believable at all

I ain't been way off or even off. **** changes. Sucks but that's the case

Not saying you're wrong, but 1 thing doesn't quite add up to me:

So if Rumph essentially called this kid and chewed his butt out on the phone (for the record, I agree with Rumph's principle here; just think he should have bit his tongue), then why did he say in that article that he called Henderson and asked him what he could have done better as a recruiter.

Just doesn't make much sense.

The kid is a high schooler.

Why the **** would you not bring him in and rough him up, at least make an example out of kids who want to act like that. You really let him go to UF just because of that?

****ing weak.

Bring him in and process his ***. Don't let UF get their hands on him. This is the dumbest **** I've ever heard why the **** would Rumph do that? No wonder he sucks *** at recruiting.

He probably wants to spend his time coaching up players that a) want to be there and b) want to improve.

Bringing in Henderson and having to treat him with kid gloves 'cos he's a good athlete is desperation mode.

Blasphemy.... Thats what you dont understand... Sean Taylor wouldnt do that. Only people like you would do that. Hence, why if we had any say you would no longer be a canes fan. We would have sent you ask packing to UF long time ago.
Sean Taylor was the wrong example but Dwins is a big Canes fan - listen to his videos. Even the bird in his room is a Cane. Be careful with that... He'll send a flock of crows to peck out your eyeballs.

Remember Manny Diaz's interview saying they had kids telling them what kids wouldn't fit at Miami. It's possible this incident had other Cane commits ****ed off at Henderson.

Henderson is so overrated as a cornerback, he's a 4-star athlete who should be playing offense not defense. Brian Edwards was the only major loss on NSD.

Sean Taylor never pulled this crap.

That's why he's Sean Taylor.

More importantly Henderson is no Sean T.

Of course he wouldn't I'm just saying if he did I would still sign him

The reason Henderson didn't come here is because of last weekend.

The long story starts at the all star game in orlando. Henderson found out he wasn't starting & took his pads off & walked off. Refused to be a back up.

When rumph & Diaz found out about it rumph called him up & snapped on him. Told him that's not what canes do. We don't need kids like that. Henderson as a result got in his feelings & didn't show up Sunday night like he was supposed to. Because of that & him doing what he did at the all star game we stopped all communication with him.

Since then bandy has tried to play peacemaker between the staff & him but the staff had no interest.

#2 rumph found out as of late Monday night jhavonte Dean was a silent to us & to ASU. He seemed to be leaning in that direction. A big part in his recruitment here was Adrian colbert. So we had Adrian call & Dean admitted he was a silent to both of us & didn't know what to do. Adrian had a friend & teammate from Texas who transferred to ASU so he put them in touch.

After speaking to buddy from ASU he told them how ASU treated there players like **** & lied about most things from when he was being recruited. After that call he told ASU he was gonna be a cane. That was Tuesday afternoon before he decided.

Devonta I still don't know 100% what happened. All I know is Monday at around 2am I got a call from a particular coach saying this mother ****er. On top of that he told us he'd be going to lsu. Feelet free to blame me for that but he'd been a silent to us since paradise & I can show that on a screen shot supported by a pic of all of us at prime 112 from back in July when we were celebrating him & another kid who didn't end up coming.

.

Thanks for the info, Brooklyn!!!

Definitely sounds like truth.

1.Henderson was flaky as **** the whole cycle and showed a huge lack of maturity and disrespect at the U.S. game. I think it'll end up being a blessing in disguise for us. Kid has bytch written all over him. Canes just wanna play and then when they get their shot, they prove **** by balling, not by throwing hissy fits.

2.Can definitely see the scenario with Dean taking place. We had some kids playing us this cycle. Colbert ends up being a better DB recruiter than any of our coaches. Kid has my respect! True Cane!

3.Devontae played us. It was clear as day when he didn't come on his visit. The "other silent recruit" menioned is of course, Whoopie. They both played us like a fiddle. I'd be ****ed off too if I was the coach that called Brooklyn at 2 am.

Bottom line is, Hendo is weak sauce and Smith was about that bag life.

I know for the "unicorns" and "pixies" crowd it's hard to believe, but **** sounds legit.

Sorry for not doing a search for this, but didn't another poster recently say that Henderson also reacted poorly when Bandy was outperforming him at an all-star game? I don't think that Rumph would go off for ONE case of poor sportsmanship, this really seems to be more of a cumulative outburst.

Between the behavior and the postings (by several knowledgeable people) about Henderson needing A LOT of coaching-up to be a good cornerback, I don't feel bad at all about this "miss".

I feel worse that we waited on both Henderson and Edwards, as well as McFarland, and didn't have back-up plans.

As for the comments on Colbert, we really need to start amassing a "database" if you will, of our former players, or maybe even guys who might give us a hand, i.e., Cronkrite, on providing "oppo research" (to borrow a term from politics) on the programs that put on a good recruiting show, but really treat the players poorly. Imagine if you had Cronkrite, not even a Cane, willing to tell Henderson and Edwards and Slaton what's really going on with the UF program.

**** I don't even want to read through this whole thread fuq that kid. And devonta smith I still don't know where he ended up because I didn't even care about his a55 either since day one

I just used it as an example of course he wouldn't....I'm just mentioning a superior athlete I wouldn't say no too I'm about wins n beastly recruiting. I would do just like what bama n FSU does....do whatever u have too. And yes my bird is a beast born n bred in sfla

lmao. they snapped on him over USA football. hahah that hasta be a joke.

i want confirmation on this **** foreal cause theres no ay i can believe this until pete or someone with a history of good info tells us. if its true i apologize but theres too many holes in this story....big time programs dont let elite kids leave because of hissy fits.

Big time programs do pass on kids having hissy fits. That's what makes them big time programs. There are a million other talented kids who don't act little b**ches waiting to get an offer. Henderson wasn't a 5 star once in a generation cb, he is a four star "athlete" without much time at the position he was getting recruited to play. You think Saban would ever recruit a kid who quit on his teammates, throws off his gear and storms off the field, and makes pouty faces because he isn't a starter?

Exactly...remember how Bama pulled their hat out of the race for Henderson at right about the same time as this all-star **** happened? Coincidence? Nah they just moved on to the next kid.

we of all people should know what happens when you recruit too many prima donnas and soft guys. that was the beginning of our demise starting with coker.

Man we need to just quit talking about him period. He's not a cane so it's whatever.
