For Those Who Haven't Seen - RE: henderson, dean, smith

Too many guys like this from South Florida act entitled and it kills the team's unity. If he's afraid to compete then no reason to bring him in, there's been too many players like this that have been in the program the last decade that either get kicked off the team or create a rift in the locker room. If kids don't realize the opportunity that they're getting to play at UM then forget them.

WHAT KILLS ADVERSITY? UNITY!

Replace "unhappy with his role in the offense" with "unhappy in his role with the defense" and you have a preview of what Henderson's path at Miami would have looked like.

Jalen Hurd quitting Tennessee is everything wrong with college football

If you have a veteran team, then you can bring in a problem child (think of the Patriots bringing in Randy Moss types) because the older players will keep him in check. Miami had one of the youngest (if not THE youngest ) defenses in college football last year. A bad attitude on a young team will spread and infect the entire defense. Henderson is not even close to being talented enough as a CB for Miami to take that chance.

if sean taylor wanted to committ last minute u would let him......and he quit an all star game lets say.....would u take him or let him go to fsu?

bang ther

Depends on if I believed ST was going to man up or sit on the bench and sulk every time I didn't put him in the game. Knowing how ST turned out, sure you put up with that but there's no reason to think this kid is that kind of talent.

Don't know if this is true, but if so I'm down. No point in wasting a scholarship on a kid you think will spend his time throwing tantrums.

ST did go to Killian where he did not start then switched schools

To compare Sean to this kid is blatantly disrespectful & to transfer is a lil different than refusing to play & walking off. I could almost guarantee u if this kid was even a tenth of the prospect Sean was coming out of highschool we would've handled things differently. Every kid is different & should be. Just like Jimmy said

This is not being a shot a ST just a fact. I played and grew up with since pop warner days with the razorbacks. Even played for his dad coach pete. I am just stating that kids make decisions based on what they feel. ST thought he should be a starter so he transferred to a smaller school where he got his chance and took advantage of it. Like you said all kids are different and react different.

They are all different, and this staff doesn't want the ones who won't support their team if they don't get the recognition they feel they deserve. Kid like that isn't going to quietly sit and learn for a year, he's going to whine about how the coaches don't recognize his talent then transfer.

Considering what appeared to happen with Holloman/McFarland/Smith, hopefully everyone now realizes how useless "silent commits" are. ****, even Dean was a silent to multiple schools and was a toss up before talking to Colbert when most presumed he was a Cane lock.

Too many recruits silently pledge to multiple schools only to burn us at the 11th hour. Always nice to make a splash leading up to and during NSD, but you should never opt to recruit just one premier player at a position assuming they'll come the way we did with McFarland.

Public commits don't mean a whole lot either.

Silent commits or these open commits where the guy commits to one school but still has open recruitment and a top 3 or 5, is just like saying you're my safety school.

For too long we've been the safety school for the Bammer or SEC slurpers with some of these south Florida grifters.

Put together a really good season, get back in the playoff hunt and this goes away to a certain extent. It will never go away completely, but I think they'll be less disrespect. That's my hope anyway.

So Smith was DJ ace.

As far as the Henderson story, didn't the dead period last all the way to signing day? If so how do you cut off communication when you should not be communicating anyway?

Well said. And what is being said about Henderson is absolutely believable. In fact, his whole recruitment is indicative exactly what Brooklyndee posted - a kid who is extremely temperamental. I was unaware that Dean was playing games with ASU, but I'm glad it worked out as it did. I felt like Smith was a silent to us because he had not openly committed to Bama when everyone thought he would do so several months back. What I couldn't figure was why Pete almost never mentioned Smith. And agree too with what you said about bags.

The reason Henderson didn't come here is because of last weekend.

The long story starts at the all star game in orlando. Henderson found out he wasn't starting & took his pads off & walked off. Refused to be a back up.

When rumph & Diaz found out about it rumph called him up & snapped on him. Told him that's not what canes do. We don't need kids like that. Henderson as a result got in his feelings & didn't show up Sunday night like he was supposed to. Because of that & him doing what he did at the all star game we stopped all communication with him.

Since then bandy has tried to play peacemaker between the staff & him but the staff had no interest.

#2 rumph found out as of late Monday night jhavonte Dean was a silent to us & to ASU. He seemed to be leaning in that direction. A big part in his recruitment here was Adrian colbert. So we had Adrian call & Dean admitted he was a silent to both of us & didn't know what to do. Adrian had a friend & teammate from Texas who transferred to ASU so he put them in touch.

After speaking to buddy from ASU he told them how ASU treated there players like **** & lied about most things from when he was being recruited. After that call he told ASU he was gonna be a cane. That was Tuesday afternoon before he decided.

Devonta I still don't know 100% what happened. All I know is Monday at around 2am I got a call from a particular coach saying this mother ****er. On top of that he told us he'd be going to lsu. Feelet free to blame me for that but he'd been a silent to us since paradise & I can show that on a screen shot supported by a pic of all of us at prime 112 from back in July when we were celebrating him & another kid who didn't end up coming.

.

Thanks for the info, Brooklyn!!!

Definitely sounds like truth.

1.Henderson was flaky as **** the whole cycle and showed a huge lack of maturity and disrespect at the U.S. game. I think it'll end up being a blessing in disguise for us. Kid has bytch written all over him. Canes just wanna play and then when they get their shot, they prove **** by balling, not by throwing hissy fits.

2.Can definitely see the scenario with Dean taking place. We had some kids playing us this cycle. Colbert ends up being a better DB recruiter than any of our coaches. Kid has my respect! True Cane!

3.Devontae played us. It was clear as day when he didn't come on his visit. The "other silent recruit" menioned is of course, Whoopie. They both played us like a fiddle. I'd be ****ed off too if I was the coach that called Brooklyn at 2 am.

Bottom line is, Hendo is weak sauce and Smith was about that bag life.

I know for the "unicorns" and "pixies" crowd it's hard to believe, but **** sounds legit.

We will see very soon, but I think Edwards will be the kid we really miss a couple years from now.
dean kid is a flake. Hope he pans out.

I can’t believe this is a topic. Everyone knows Mark is a disciple and doesn’t deal with knuckleheads.

What about TreMaine Mack??? Can we talk about him somehow

Tremaine was 100x the player this kid is gonna be. Tremaine was the ultimate team player & a monster. His problem was he had a HEAVY dependency on alcohol.

This^^^^^

You can tell who the dumb@$$es on the board are real quick.

Tremain was one **** of a DB and a tremendous KICK RETURNER. Dude was big and fast. Great player!

A quitter, for any reason, is a quitter.

The first time one gets ****y and quits something, it's much easier to quit the second time. And the third time just comes natural.

Glad we didn't take him.

Possibly your best work.

lmao. they snapped on him over USA football. hahah that hasta be a joke.

i want confirmation on this **** foreal cause theres no ay i can believe this until pete or someone with a history of good info tells us. if its true i apologize but theres too many holes in this story....big time programs dont let elite kids leave because of hissy fits.

If you want confirmation go watch the game and look for Henderson. He wasn't hurt, so he should have been fine to play. And before he left for that game he told the staff he was coming. Then he had Bandy and DJ in his ear while he was down there. And his roommate decommitted from UF while at the game. YET when he gets back to miami, instead of going to watch film with Bandy, he blows off the meeting with the coaches he just committed to? This makes perfect sense with what Dee is saying. Plus even his coach called him out. Its gotta take a lot of BS for your own coach to do that.

The fact is Rumph, and others on this staff, are going to call these kids out with their BS. Being a Miami Hurricane isn't just about talent, it about mentality. And if you don't have it, you're not coming here. Personally I like that they dropped Gibson for playing games. I think we have to have the Jimmy Johnson philosophy when it comes to recruiting. You have to be a 5* talent to get away with some of this g.ay **** these recruits pull, otherwise we'll go a different direction.

Mack will always have a special place in my heart for that blocked punt vs. WVU. Such a clutch moment. Beast!

Thanks, Bennu! If it looks and smells like a **** sandwich, then it's most probably a **** sandwich.

Glad the coaches didn't fall enough in love with the **** sandwich to buy it. Hendo might even be bipolar for all we know.

Smith definitely got bag fever. Kids never learn. I'll be shocked if he ever plays significantly for them. Too many guys at WR on their roster that are just as good or better than him.

It's amazing to me that some people can't comprehend this.
