As soon as NIL became legal, UGA & Bama fell back to Earth.

Bag schools THRIVED off the cheating of underhanded untraceable cash deals. But more importantly, they thrived off not having an open market being forced to negotiate. They were able to low-ball athletes by offering cars & other non-fungibles that came at no cost to them.

Now that it's out in the open, they can't outbid the market & the result is schools like TTech, Miami, UCLA showing up outta nowhere & getting steals that were once reserved for a handful of teams.

NIL has also exposed that a lot of Coaches got by on program prestige to do their recruiting for them.

You give a relentless worker like Mario an unlimited War-chest, he's completely lapping the Coaches who are used to just getting 5-star commits because the logo on their polo.

Plus by making it legal it took away the gate keeper (ncaa) that allowed the chosen sec programs to get away with it while punishing anyone else that tried.

We tried to tell everyone that once pay was over the table instead of under the table, UM and a few other programs would have the advantage. Our billionaire boosters were never going to hand out $20,000 duffel bags. But once NIL provided a legitimate avenue, those same boosters could do so much more than duffel bags of cash.

What we could not have definitively known was that UM would hire the right coach to also take advantage of NIL and UM’s resources. Mario and the refocused administration have put it all together and created a football machine.
We would have handed out duffel bags too, however the NCAA wasn't having it. They were the gatekeepers of pay for play, only allowing a select few schools to get away with it while harshly penalizing others who tried to do the same. Alabama players were driving around in brand new cars that they owned, while our players got in trouble for getting discounted rental cars. Smh....

I remember just a month ago Pete was complaining that we’d barely get a top 10 class lol
Wild for him to be that pessimistic and be a fan. Mario ain't showed us no different. No we got the credentials, he finally just do what he wants. We won't get all of em. But he gets who he wants and who we least expect.

I’m not in the room where it happens. But I’d be surprised if our NIL payouts are any more than the other top programs. I’m sure we’re paying well, not saying kids are coming to Miami only for the coaching and culture. But I don’t relieve we’re overpaying. Maybe Cantwell we did but he is Hercules.

My point is that when L$U, Jawja and Baga come crying about us throwing money at recruits, what’s really happening is we are roughly matching and the recruits would just rather play at the U.
