As soon as NIL became legal, UGA & Bama fell back to Earth.

Bag schools THRIVED off the cheating of underhanded untraceable cash deals. But more importantly, they thrived off not having an open market being forced to negotiate. They were able to low-ball athletes by offering cars & other non-fungibles that came at no cost to them.

Now that it's out in the open, they can't outbid the market & the result is schools like TTech, Miami, UCLA showing up outta nowhere & getting steals that were once reserved for a handful of teams.

NIL has also exposed that a lot of Coaches got by on program prestige to do their recruiting for them.

You give a relentless worker like Mario an unlimited War-chest, he's completely lapping the Coaches who are used to just getting 5-star commits because the logo on their polo.
The days of landing 5 star players for 50 grand in a duffle bag and a Dodge Charger are over. Now those SEC powerhouse schools are crying that they're broke and they can't compete in this NIL market. Oh well.

LSU just took their OV weekend away; was supposed to be this weekend. Now they gotta bump out Alabama or South Carolina who are the next two afterwards (if he doesn’t commit to LSU this weekend)
Just surprising I'm pretty sure he's highest rated dlineman Texas is actually after, meanwhile their class is kinda dismal and they aren't really all about the portal like Lane is. They e finished top like 3or5 each of past like 3-5 yrs or some **** under Sark. Idk if theyre just passing on HS this yr cause A&M is killing it. But I would have expected Texas to go hard and land Camara and Green (green if he was their top edge recruit that is).... Weird

Yeah rely on the portal so u have to pay crazy money for Seaton instead of recruiting a 3 year starter like Francis outa high school, followed by Cantwell. Sounds like a sound plan. Its not like we are ignoring the portal either lol. But everyone sees the deficiency at certain positions in the portal, namely the trenches, then the insane money it takes if any become available. Bagged up man with the cope. They all share one brain cell. "Miami outbid everyone". We werent 1 play away from the title while LSU was at home. Beat Kweeffin former team on the way as well

This this and this.

This is what this dude does, man. Are we paying top dollar? Of course. So are a LOT of schools. The difference, and so many people don’t understand this, is SALES IS A SKILL. Some people are better at it than others. And Mario is good as it gets, periodt. So when you level the playing field like he’s saying, other things rise to the top. A world class city can become a factor. Coaching can become a factor. Miami always had a lot to sell on the periphery. But now we can compete monetarily. When you add up the natural factors we have in our favor, and then you add a relentless cyborg like we have in our corner, this is what you get.

Miami checks every single box now for these kids. ALL of them. And you have a true ELITE salesman who can make kids understand all of this.

We’re in good hands. I’ve said for years, we just need to win. That was the last gate. Well….*waves at everything*.

Fun times, boys and girls. And just think, in 3 months we get to actually play more football with one of the 5 best rosters in the sport. And it will continue to get better.

People still think saban retired because of the integrity of the college football was jeopardized by nil

We tried to tell everyone that once pay was over the table instead of under the table, UM and a few other programs would have the advantage. Our billionaire boosters were never going to hand out $20,000 duffel bags. But once NIL provided a legitimate avenue, those same boosters could do so much more than duffel bags of cash.

What we could not have definitively known was that UM would hire the right coach to also take advantage of NIL and UM’s resources. Mario and the refocused administration have put it all together and created a football machine.

Once you get the proof of concept and the NIL game on level it’s gonna be hard to compete for the non NIL schools. Mario has done that. He can sell development, culture, winning and money.

You’re telling me 18 year olds are gonna turn down $100k/year, in Miami, playing in the CFP and eventually getting drafted early? No rational kid is gonna see all of that and say I’ll pass.

Kirby will still get his. But gone are the days of stacking 35 five stars and needing 10 to hit.

Don’t think they are passing, it’s just cutthroat competition for that position. There’s also less of a separation amongst everybody because 3 other schools (SMU) in their state have made the playoffs in the past 2 seasons with A&M and TT being the most recent.

They have two of the top 20 edges committed already though so they aren’t completely striking out. …. They are still in it for a lot of bluechippers. 247 shows that they haven’t had official visitors yet; they stacked these 3 weekends of June, pre-dead period.

And not sure if you peeped but they absolutely had one of the best portal classes last year which probably dried up some funds.
