Even Ferman is taking the gloves off

If the university is in deed concerned and having “behind the scenes” meetings it would make more sense to immediately start the process. We were all hyped about thinking by now the U would be back. It’s time to put all concerned out of their misery and start fresh. No matter we are looking at 3 more years of pain.

Regardless of Money you aren’t going to get a good coach with a Lame duck/ bad AD. Haven’t seen any smoke of him being fired, so I don’t think anything will change big picture.
I can tell you this as well. Mario will not come here with BJ as the AD. There’s bad blood there and Mario holds all the chips.

While it wasn’t overtly states, I’m pretty sure a reorganized department would inherently mean new leadership.
Yea we’ve all thought we’d have new and pretty things before and yet here we are worrying if Chud or Tommy Tuberville will be the new HC.Until I see what’s inside my presents I’m not believing I’ll get anything good from this bunch playing Santa Claus…

BJ went rogue on Manny and no one challenged him.... impotent BOT
Thats just crazy. The one guy in charge of oversight was ‘traveling’ during a coaching ’search’. Was he in a cave in Tibet? F*ck me. James should be on the first train out of town. Not fit to float a broom at UM. Send the message. Manny, travelin’ man, and the rest of the clan that played dumb on this can hit the bricks. Good article by Ferman, aside from the apparent plagiarism of the guys bio and having prepositions at the end of sentences.

Manny’s refusal to go after LB help in the portal is the prime example

He hired Patke, with a worse resume than Jon Richt at the time, to be the 10th coach rather than see what the best options available were

We got lucky the T Stevenson wanted to come home or our CB position would be even worse than it is

I won’t recite the 100+ examples of why Manny has failed do miserably. I hope every one of the examples gets thrown in BJ’s face right before they fire him
Not going after LBs in the portal when he had to have known our LB room was below average is either really arrogant or really stupid. I am thinking arrogant. I truly believed he thought that LB corp was good enough to get him past this year because of the front 4 and back 4. (which we all thought would be **** good!..**** I pegged our secondary as the best we will have here since 05'! LOL. Epic fail on that Hot Take)

Listen; I’m not a Debbie Downer. I’m typically optimistic, but this article highlights why this University can’t get out of its own way.

There are WAAAAAAAY too many ppl who in the kitchen of athletics w/o the resume in athletics.

You want to change chit? Stop doing the same chit. I’ll be honest folks, b/c Miami have sucked, it’s forced my hand to explore the world of CFB vs keeping on my Orange & Green shades, exclusively. I don’t think I can recall any other school’s BOT being so heavily involved in every single athletic decision. What I typically see is either the BOT or Board of Regents get involved to make a change to the AD. THE AD. If the AD proves to be incompetent, they meet to remove them for their post. If they prove to be competent, they r there to support whatever they need.

And that’s my problem w/ our decision making. Again, if Blake, indeed, went rogue, if the entire athletics have gone to chit under his watch, u don’t solve the matter by involving “business people” to fix “athletic issues.” YOU FIRE THE AD & HIRE A COMPETENT AD!

I’m not sure how much others loosely follow other programs, but this is not normal. So yes, while it’s refreshing Miami wants to semi step into the 21st century, they still have a control issue in which guys who never played or ran athletics r trying to run the dept from a quasi state.

Step 1. Decide what the total budget will be, and realize that it needs to expand exponentially

Step 2. Fire Blake James & his cronies

Step 3. Hire a capable AD either from another, SUCCESSFUL P5 program, an Assistant AD from a SUCCESSFUL P5 program, or an NFL personnel executive.

Step 4. GET OUT OF THEIR WAY. Support their needs

Step 5. Get out of this Adidas contract & go back to Nike b/c image & perception is everything. (OK, step 5 was more personal, but true at the same time. lol)

But in all seriousness, those 4 steps need to be done. This school overthinks so much. The fact James is still being considered as a AD is all I need to know. Til that change, til this BOT get over its control issues, nothing will change.
While I agree with this timeline..if you are going to fire the AD it needs to happen in the next month or less. So you have time to search for one because then the AD needs time to search for a HC since most posters on here want a thorough search and not just a Mario Christobal free for all. (which I dont agree with. Get Mario and be done with it)

Alot of people say they dont care how long it takes to find the right HC, just find one. That sounds good in October and **** it even sounds good in November. But Dec and Jan start rolling around and LSU and USC have already backed up the brinks truck to get the guys they want, Mario feels disrespected by a nationwide search and wanted to be the #1 and only candidate so he turns us down and you look up we got a big problem on our hands. Doesnt have to be a fast search. But this cant drag on for a month either.

Why do I have the feeling that Gary is trying to will his piece into existence and that in actuality the Mas brothers have no idea there's such thing as a University of Miami?

Even for Ferman it’s not far fetched. Jorge’s an alum and is already a sports owner so there’s interest

It was Athletic Director malpractice and there was nobody there in fairness to provide a check and balance for James. David Epstein, the liaison to athletics from the Board of Trustees, was traveling at the time. Frenk rubber stamped what his Athletic Director told him that he wanted to do."

This was the funniest material in the whole thing and also a red flag that Garrry is susceptible to regurgitating nonsense spoon fed to him by people with ulterior motives.

Epstein couldn't save the day because he was "traveling". Oooookay, Davey. Is it 1948? We're you participating in the Iditarod? Were you looking for a coach in Siberia and absolutely couldn't get a single bar on your phone until after Manny had signed Blake's contract or before Frenk gave the double thumbs up? Please.

Blake knew Epstein was traveling via time machine to 1900 and performed history's lamest coup.

Admittedly I am not that informed about the UHealth history. I do remember reading that it was a boondoggle initially, although that was several years ago and, as you mentioned, may have turned around since then. I could be reading incorrectly but the article seemed to suggest that the UHealth system has been the primary driver of increased revenue and the reason the university is now flush with cash.
UHealth money stays there with the plan... does not cross over to U side

He was on Epstein island or enroute on the Lolita express... give the man a break

To be honest, I don't think Epstein or any of the BOT would have objected.... with Manny's pappy in the shadows
