Coach No D

I was on board but i got one foot off the edge right now. We continue to allow so-so offenses to perform surgery on our defense via the pass. Hopefully we have some diverse coverages and alignments for the FSU game.

If only we had an unemployed former HS DL assistant coach as our DC. Then everything would be alright.

Bottom line is...

We can't be stagnant pre-snap, like we have been. It makes the QB's reads too easy. Wake had our defense figured out. They knew what coverages we were in and they exploited the weaknesses of said coverage.

With all due respect, Wake only scored 3 TDs. If they had our defense figured out and were able to exploit our weaknesses, they would've scored a lot more than they did.

Who cares about they only scored 21 points. Our D was on the field the entire 1st quarter. 4 3rd down conversions o7 7 and longer. Lets see here Einstein, that is 2-3 more possessions for our offense. Yeah I am not one to complain about 7-0 but I am complaining about our D scheme this game like mentioned above. It was brutal and there is no way shape or form that team should have hung with us all game. It was our D continuously giving up 3rd down conversions and making avg QB's look like Joe Montana against us going 25-35 with all day to throw and the same bend but dont break philosophy.

With all that said Al and D will get it right this week and whip some F$U ***.

Well, Einstein, what did our offense do with the one possession they got in the 1st Q? Did our defensive scheme put players in position to halt those drives?

Let me help you with the answers: Nothing. Yes.

Right on. Lets go Canes

Coach d said he is not taking a new approach vs fsu and said "you have to treat them all the same" and he said "i think that's what we do".

Maybe the coordinator who is struggling actually will... Hint: It's not Coach D.

oh jeebus.

ANd like he's going to say we are changing things for FSU if we indeed do. That would be stupid of him.

Fsu has been facing soft zones majority of the year, lots of quarters coverage . Even when teams blitz they give 10-12 yard cushions, that defeats the purpose. Against Clemson their wr's just ran deep hitches and curls to death . If we run this bend but don't break stuff against them it'll be over at the half.

Let our db's put their hands on their skill guys , it'll be the first time they've been challenged at the line. We ran lots of man press in the second half Sat and our db's were all over Wake wr's. We have physical corners, let them be that . Sitting back 10-12 yards eliminates their strengths and plays into Fsu hands.

Hopefully we run more of what we did in the fourth quarter against wake. More press man, nickel with at least one of our pass rushing specialist out there . Pass rush is huge this week, so Gilbert, AQM and McCord need more snaps.

I would think we would have to modify approach dependent on the team. He probably didn't like whatever question he was asked.

This. Bend but don't break waits for the other team to make mistakes, penalty , sack or turnover . If it don't happen your D is on the field forever, the field continually gets flipped and your O has more pressure to score because of less possesions.

These spread offenses love this, plays into their hands.

Tyrone Cornelius starting is probably the biggest adjustment.... it's good to have a LB that can cover consistently starting and also have better talent when Highsmith is on the field when the back-ups come in..

The rest like i said, D'onofrio's scheme held FSU to 16 points going into the 4th last year and Miami was 21 point underdogs then as well. SO i trust he knows what he's talking about on this one.
