Canes Fans Not From South Florida

Moved to FL panhandle from Ft Worth (Military family) in '82. Became football conscience then as I was 8 and immediately loved the Canes. Used to cut out articles and box scores and put on my wall. Friends all wore Bama, Auburn or UF stuff. Didn't understand why nobody else liked Miami. Live in Ft Worth now. Wife's family is from Miami.

Harrison, NJ to this day ... Cane fan since the Cleveland Gary "fumble" when my entire family of Irish fans went nuts cheering and I was crying my eyes out at 2 lol

Born in Miami, moved to Germany, went to college in Iowa, worked in Chicago and now in Austin.

Not a fan until I went to UM for grad school in mid-late 90's.

I'm still a fan now, but my interest has waned significantly during the recent stagflation over the last 10 years. I watch all of the games, but I don't travel anymore. It's just not worth it. And, it's not a money thing. I find myself watching and enjoying other non-Miami games more often than when the Canes were decent and everyone was pretty much the enemy. Thanks, Donna.

The '87 Fiesta game got me. I just loved that they didn't give a fvck. I grew up in a Buffalo suburb where, back in the late 80's early 90's, the word Miami was hated because of the Dolphins. There wasn't one Miami fan in my school or on my football team. Most kids were ND, PSU, Cuse or FSU fans.

Born and raised and still living in Vienna, Austria, Europe. Cane since 1990 when european cable tv broadcasted the 1990 Canes season.

Born in Gainesville , Fl. Raised in High Springs, Fla.

My family was from Ga and Indiana, not the biggest sports fans. So I had to find my own teams on tv.

I hated the Gators because of their annoying *** fans, so that wasn't an option. I also liked being different so when I watched my first Cane game .......it was history. The dancing, smoke entrance , the bad boy image and the swag had me hooked .

It was around 86-87 when I became a fan, " the U" has been my biggest passion since.

from the chi, lived in los angeles majority of my life in the hotbed of USC recruiting...now living in the bay in the hotbed of Cal recruiting but I've been bleeding orange and green since 87-88 when i was 5 yrs old. (very first college football team i've ever laid my eyes upon) never looked back since and never will. converted some nebraska followers into canes fans too in 2000. if you ain't a cane, i have no love for you.

Born and raised in the heart of SEC country, south Mississippi. Was raised as an Alabama fan since my PawPaw was a big Bear Bryant follower. Fell in love with the canes the first time I heard Howards drawl in an interview on tv. We didn't get a lot of channels growing up so the only time I got to watch football was when the big boys were playing. It was always Miami against some one else so I did get to see them more often.
