Another name in the mix

Herman looks like he likes to lose to basketball schools, too. Haven't we been there and done that?
If these clowns skrew up this hire, UConn will replace us in the ACC.

This is definitely NOT an endorsement from me, and I've heard nothing to indicate this guy is a leading candidate or anything like that. So there is no need to overreact.

But a plugged-in source told me to keep an eye on this name, and the candidate has ties to Vilma (from the Jets) and Testaverde (from coaching his son).

Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech.

Why didn't Peter just post it himself?

10 years from now ole Kliff going to be a big time coach. He isn't ready for Miami yet.

Kliff Kingsbury, Lane Kiffin...is David Caruso on the search committee?

I think this info is complete bull****. It's stupid.

I'm not a Kingsbury fan, but this is good news. It means they are doing their due dilligence and not sticking to the retreads being mentioned in the press.

This is impossible because we are only considering Wario, Schiano, and Chud based on solid sources.

And even if it were possible, it's irrelevant because there are only two coaches capable of saving our program from certain death -- the guy who just got *** raped by Temple and the other guy who just got beat by a 5-5 UConn team and its backup quarterback.

If Kingsbury is being considered, then it shows that at least the search committee seems to be doing a thorough search and is not settling for the pupu platter of Mario, Chud, Strong, or Schiano.

The real question that needs to be asked is, who will be the last person in America, to be considered? We ought to go to this person next, and skip the in between.

Mark Dantonio was 18-17 at cincinnati, 11-11 in conference, and people would love to have him here now.

Fair enough but it isn't an apples to apples comparison. When Mich State hired him in 2007 they gave him a 5 year deal at around $1 mil per. That was near the bottom of what Big Ten coaches were making then. They essentially struck gold in the bargain bin back then. Kingsbury isn't that same type of financial no-risk deal and, based on our track record, I REALLY hope we're not bargain shoppers this time around.

This is great news. I've always favored hiring the young hungry up and comer. Don't know much about him but he seems to pass the smell test.
