Anytime you think a kicker isn't important and shouldn't get a scholarship just think how different our legacy might be if Nole kickers were able to make FG's...

Baxa captured two titles, starting it by winning the pole vault title and nearly breaking the Pasadena ISD record in the process. He officially won the pole vault at a height of 9-6, but he tried to break the 10-foot-1 record with a vault of 10-2. On his first and third tries, his body cleared the bar but his legs or feet brought the bar down.

Then in the 300 hurdles, he bagged the time of 44.77 seconds.

In the relays, Bondy won the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400. The 4 by 400 team consisted of Williams, Baxa, Jacob Salas and Ayala.

Exactly. Mocking the position doesn't negate the actual freakin' importance it can hold. Imagine if FSU's kickers didn't **** the bed against us in those few moments of Canes history? I'm also always amazed when big time programs fail to get even competent kickers and then that recruiting laziness/ineptitude is exposed in huge moments where their season is on the line. They're having to go for it down 3 or less on 4th down in normal fg range because their walk-on kicker is 0-5 on the day and in tears on the sideline regretting ever accepting that try-out invite after some low level staffer saw him playing intramural soccer.
