Yo Peter_ariz can we get that work bro?

Did Thomas play or was he not targeted at all?
Thomas has been out, precautionary hamstring stuff, nothing too serious.

Sorry Liberty I didn't see your post back to me in the other deleted thread. I tried to send you a PM but you don't take them. Wish I could have sent my message. But I'm with you on this one with all my heart.

Yeah, would like to know if there were any QB rushing stats. If da were my mane Malik probably did well there too.

Looks like for the most part sheriifs and rosier went vs the 2s and perry vs the 1s.

I thought I read someone's post in Lu's thread that each one got time against the ones?

It would have been absolutely retarded for Rick to only give Perry reps against the first team D. This is spin from the guys looking to make excuses for their guy. Just face it. Rosier and Shirreffs are more effective right now.

Perry's been practicing a fcking week. No need to start twisting facts to make yourselves look better. This dude just got here. His eyes were probably as big as the "this house shoooo gone crazy" guy from the Three Stooges.
I think the whole "effective now" vs "the future" debate deserves its own thread (again). But, I fail to see why so many have emotionally invested in a particular QB candidate. Pick the guy who gives our badass defense the best chance of winning games and re-assess who's the best alternative at various points. It's ridiculously early in that process. Who knows what even happens over the next month.

Most agree Perry is the more gifted passer. But, Perry was not an EE. He's had to try to claw in to a race with two other guys. We've been taking Ls for over a **** decade. For now, give me the most effective and I'm thrilled to see wtf we do.

Exactly. I'm sure Alabaga had more talented QBs on the roster than McElroy and Sims and Coker, but they won with those guys. I just want to see whoever gives us the best chance to win right now, and that might not necessarily be the guy who can make the most occasionally spectacular plays.

The untold story is that Richt completely botched the QB situation over the offseason by 1. Reportedly not fighting to keep Kaaya, who for all his faults almost assuredly has this team in the ACC championship this season and 2. Reportedly not going after any grad transfer QBs. He was essentially okay with going into this season with the guys already on the roster, who are fringe Power 5 talents, and a true freshman who is not an early enrollee. Poor planning and foresight.

Kaaya was leaving no matter what.

There goes your untold story.

Is that true? Was he?

Because I've always thought of Richt's non-recruitment of Kaaya as both telling and puzzling. Would like to know more.

Kaaya left b/c last years QB class was trash and next year is ridiculous.

If reports are true, Kaaya wasn't the most liked guy on the team. Sometimes a change is needed.

Also, I don't know why you guys don't get it. Shirreffs didn't get a lot of offers because he had one full year of starting experience, and he was on the tall and thin side. Richt was interested in him coming to Georgia, but they were not taking a QB that recruiting cycle. There's a good chance they would have offered him a scholarship if they were giving one out. Shirreffs is 6'5" 220, and had he been that size coming out of high school with more than one year starting experience, a guarantee you he'd have a long offer sheet. He's just a guy that bloomed late and wasn't noticed until the very end of his high school career. It was NOT because he was a mediocre player. Watch his film and you'll see a QB making a lot of plays down the field. ****, that was BEFORE he got big.

I think he's going to shut a lot of people up about offer sheets and crap like that. The players like him, and that's good enough for me.

Did Cager get any reps? Also no talk of Dean or Delaney?

Pardon the pun, but Romeo Finley is repping Niceville quite "nicely." All the CIS talk of SoFla studs is great, but having a former Golden Eagle play well for the 'Canes has been a wish I've had since I started following that HS in 1995.

There are some youtube videos, as well as old press clippings online.

Miami and UGA interested in emerging QB prospect | College recruiting blog

A few things caught my eye in his highlights. One, he can move for a tall QB. Secondly, he made plays from under center, and his PA game looked very, very good for a high school QB. Lastly, despite not having a cannon for an arm, he made plays down the field. His timing looked fantastic.

I think Golden actually got lucky in getting him. Had he played his entire junior season, to go along with a really good senior season, he would have had many more offers. If he was 220 coming out of high school, that alone would have lit up his offer sheet.

I know people like to get caught up in high school stats, stars, and offers, but that means little when you're talking about a late bloomer like Shirreffs.

So you're telling me that a redshirt junior is doing better than a true freshman who only arrived a few weeks ago?

Color me shocked!

If I had to guess, Rosier will probably be the starter for his final two years, with Shirreffs and Perry in a close competition for the job the year after. We're in a relatively good place with the QBs, so I feel pretty good about this team's chances.
