@Roman Marciante, when do we see the blooper reel?

I find your observation about Perry looking outside in vs Williams doing the opposite to be interesting. When I was shooting trap, a guy I used to shoot with told me to look off in the distance before saying "pull" because your eyes focus in faster than focusing outward. It's only a split second, but it makes a difference.

Fair analysis on who should be starting. Do you think now that Foster pretty much unveiled the blue print for other defenses to counter Williams that he will continue having the same success he had earlier? Perry, for his faults, I think still gives defenses more to think about than Williams, and you pointed out earlier that given our oline issues, Perry seems the better fit right now because of his decisiveness to run when things breakdown. It's a tough call. Maybe the shorter leash on Williams is the compromise solution.

No, not necessarily any blue print that Foster provided. Everyone has been able to get pressure so that is not new. The interceptions from Jarren were characterized by me in this fashion. 1. fluke bounce not necessarily his fault (staff alluded to this as well) 2. bad ball any way you spin it 3. Got hit when he threw it. Still forced it a bit but still curious if he is not getting hit on that play. Don't think it was a blue print thing that led to those picks if you ask me.

I disagree. Jarren has been much better at ball placement and has thrown into many tight windows.

And at least FOUR of those tight throws could have been intercepted. Even various play-by-play analyst mentioned that JW got away with those type of throws. Nevertheless, opposing DC's will employ the same tactics as crusty old Grandpa Foster. Because they have the inside info' on JW now.

all very well put. We all appreciate the breakdowns. Perry has somewhat of a cult following on CIS. Which I get because whenever QB1 isn’t a star, QB2 becomes a fan favorite.

jarrens deep ball is more about timing/placement then his arm strength and that leads to under throws..perry even though he has the stronger arm, at times he doesn’t put enough air under his but he’ll give you 2-3 off schedule plays a game.

All In all Jarren beat out 2 quality talents throughout spring and summer to earn the job as a RS Fresh. His play along with the strong runs by Deejay was the only bright spot on the O behind that line

" Perry has a cult following. " HuH. I beg to disagree! Because if anything, the MAJORITY of Cane fans ( In this blog and other social outlet's. ) absolutely DISLIKE the kid!!!!!!!!!! And those whom support the free spirit Perry are low in numbers.

As for this LONE voice in the hinterlands. I NEVER had anything against Perry. Neither do I have any animosity towards JW. And I'll always support Miami's starting QB. dUh

Has there been a Tate sighting latley, I could only catch the 2nd half, have they used him in any packages?

For the record, I was never a Perry follower, at all. I was one of his harshest critics. I'm not saying I'd prefer to see Perry because I'm a Perry guy. I prefer to see Perry because he can push the ball down the field, which will back a D off. Williams wasn't doing that, and much like Rosier had success early on, Williams was doomed to fall off if he can't hit passes 20+ yards down the field. Teams figure that crap out and it's game over. Heck, I like Williams, but until he can stretch the field, at all, he and this O are doomed to fail.

Ill support anyone who’s the starting QB also..I’m not saying everyone in the fanbase. But there’s certainly a section who no matter what kosi does they’ll find a way to blame things around him. Last year there was some conspiracy on why kosi didn’t beat out 12. But we all saw when he did get his chance he flashed his physical talent but would be erratic with decision making and accuracy. In this instance they bring up drops, Enos, and the oline...when jarren has been dealing with same issues. Was the same thing last year even tho perry and 12s numbers were eerily similarly. Fact is I make fun of the public mistakes perry has made on social media. It’s funny. But to characterize them as “free spirited” is dumb. They were just dumb choices made by him at the time..but for me I separate that from him as a QB..but to those who support Perry I’m sure I’m just hating

And honestly, we have no idea when his shoulder issue started affecting the long ball. He had no issue making those throws in HS. I think it's tough to really say he "can't" until the kid is 100% healthy. Playing behind this OL is just brutal.

:ROFLMAO: McKickin.

Great write up as usual.

Don’t care who the qb is as long as the person gives us the best chance to win.

If JW’s shoulder is still keeping him from playing like he can, keep rolling with Perry until he is healthy enough to return. Just my $.02.

But Perry hasn't "pushed the ball downfield" at all. He missed all the long throws the other night. He had to operate in the offense Enos called for Williams in previous games. Yes, he did hit Thomas in the Va Tech game but Jarren hit a few long throws in the first two games, too. Neither is hitting the big bombs everyone seems to want. IDK. Even watching the games last night, the offense for LSU and UF moved very efficiently with the quick passes, slants, etc. None of them were exceptionally long.

I guess we'll see how JW is this week and if his shoulder allows him to even practice or play yet.

I posted that he was banged up on a play vs CMU. And u could tell that he was continually tryna loosen it up

Perry will miss some when taking long shots but never miss going long on a THOT.

Perfect opportunity to break in a new OT just saying. The time is now to sit Zion nelson. We are playing the worst team in the acc with ga tech so i want to see scaife at left tackle and at least give Campbell or Herbert a shot at playing right tackle. It’s not fair for them to not even be given a chance to plays when Nelson is disruptive offensive drives week in and week out. Nelson may be a player down the road but he clearly isn’t now. We are getting our qbs abused by having our weakest olineman at the most critical postion for a right handed qb

Yeah all this "which QB" stuff has been discussed here a zillion times, and Roman fairly sums it up with "...good at doing different things". I was leaning JW to start, largely because of Mr. Deer-in-headlights dubious past season.

Half a season in I now prefer to focus a bit more on "bad at different things" - like reads or freshman mistakes, or "bad at same things" - like deep shots. The lacking quality of game-time presence (headlights and questionable choices) and lack of read ability convinces me we aren't going real far with either of these 2 right now. They may have both been marginally better in spring contesting on strength and accuracy from a technical standpoint, but my gut says Tate's on-field gametime presences, especially reads and choices, deserves him a full chance.

yes. pretty sure it was also posted he was sore after UF Probably a situation which got worse instead of better.... The poor OL has many residual affects, for sure...

perry is doing fine considering he's behind the worst offensive line in history

1-0
