Agreed. Let's have at least 3 on the roster (even if one of them is a competent walk on) and if the others want to bounce, I'm fine with it.

If none hit the portal before spring, you thought the QB competition was fierce last year? Just wait till TVD gets here.

And whoever wins the job outright. Let's hope we don't have to live through another quarterback carousel.

It's getting old.

None of our current qbs do the necessary things they need to do to prepare for a game.none of them have the focus nor the mentality to be that alpha dog.that's why their play is so speratic.

Don't necessarily agree. The Enos system seemed to me to be overly-complex, esoteric, and very hard for a young inexperienced QB to look good in, especially the first year. We don't know yet what our QBs can do in a simpler, more manageable offense.

People on this board are so consumed in anger, and sometimes, even hate, that they cannot make a dispassionate judgment about a lot of things.

I think we have to see what our QBs can do once they learn the new system. The critics might be right and our three or several of the three don't have what it takes....or they might flourish.

Yes. With Coley. But here is the difference. Coley did it with very little tempo and habitually. I did not like the cat an mouse with it. I specifically remember in the bowl game that we lost to South Carolina, they were purposefully showing presnap looks and then completely changing up the look after the check with me. Lashlee isn't doing it constantly. The tempo is the driving force and there is times on tape I see if the original look is there, in a split second the players look and they are redirected to run the play. No real time for teams to constantly play cat and mouse and change their coverage that way.

I would say when the primary focus is to constantly check with me with no tempo it tends to be counter-intuitive.
When the primary focus is tempo and you use check with me in lieu of audible? It can be super effective.

My formula has always been to take what the defense gives you. Checking with me needs to have a purpose that gives the offense the advantage. If it doesn't (coley) then don't bother.
I long for the day when the QB, and rest of the team, know the system well enough to just take it without having to check.

I get what you're saying, though. When we'd look over to the sideline and check with Coley, the D would laugh and change. Speeding it up a LOT changes things.

Once fall camp rolls around I firmly believe Coach L will ride with one N'Kosi Perry as his QB!! No ifs. buts or get the F' outta' here with that bogUs crap!!! Simply because Perry is TOUGH-MINDED, and can throw the ball down field, and WON'T BAIL OUT on his teammates!!! And dig this too. As mentioned above, Coach L's offense won't put the eventual QB starter in harms' way because it's slow developing and all that.

So may the best QB win the starting job. No matter who he be. hUh.
As I mentioned in the other thread, Lashlee offered and recruited Perry when he was at Auburn.

He knows he can run his offense.

Of course 5 has to prove it now.

Buechele is more accurate and 'cooler' than either of our QBs 1-3.

Yeah, this is a problem that I saw when taking a look at some of Roman's posts/videos. That guy may not have a very strong arm, but he is dead-on accurate. I found myself wondering whether we have a QB on the roster who can 1) recognize those opportunities and 2) deliver the throws accurately.

Just this Memphis game alone.
Saw wide open intermediate out on a roll out flood
Several quick screens
A wide open red zone td off orbit motion fake
Slants
Spot concept in plain view
A wide open crosser the qb missed (lashlee was ****ed it's on my blooper reel lol)
Slot outs

Honestly I say this whole heartedly. Enos required much more tighter window throws then lashlee. Accuracy will always be my premium but it's not an nfl version where you are throwing guys open constantly. Tbh I don't see this qb throwing guys open or using a ton of anticipation routinely.. he just gets it there.

I think this accuracy thing is being a bit overstated here. This qb was missing throws too now. Offense still scored points in bunches

I disagree when they prepared like they should you could see the difference aka fsu/Louisville some extent the florida/nc game.last three games cmu/ga tech they didnt.our qbs were not mentally focused.way lashlee coaches they better be focused and put time in.instead of playing graba$$ and foolin around.

If Jarren could just pull the damned trigger quick enough to keep the pressure off him he could do really well here.
Kosi would be streaky but could light **** up when he gets hot. If he hits a few deep shots he'd have a lot of room underneath to run as well.

Good interview with him from when he first got to SMU. I expect we'll hear a lot of the same questions and responses from him when we finally hear his approach with our roster.
