I’ll say this: UGA competes for titles annually and they currently have the #2 ranked class. Their class contains 8 3-stars and 3 of those 8 are…. DL!

Can’t always go by stars in the trenches. This is where your evaluations count. I’d take a big, fast, strong, high motor 3 star OL/DL with good measurables who may have flown under the radar or is a late-bloomer over an undersized, unimpressive 4-star trench player any day.

Great info/insight, Sphinx!

Before the meat market (HS recruiting) industry evolved, Butch Davis used to say; (paraphrasing based on memory, which can be dangerous at my age)

"There's maybe four or five D-tackles that come out of high school across the country every year that can change the game. It's hard to win a title if you dont land one of those kids every couple of years."

Nowadays, with an entire industry that identifies high school talent, there's probably more than 4 or 5 per year, but this is definitely the type of recruit you need to land at least every other cycle to compete for championships.

How the **** would you know? Come on man, that’s not an argument. Find someone who has stood next to this kid and taken his measurements. Seriously, if I’m wrong, give me your proof, brother.

@P-Tizzle Donno on Locked On Canes speaks with guys who have scouted him this year and they say he's grown and may be closer to 6'5 than 6'4" and he's 290.

3:30 to 3:45 mark

But Grover, you forgot, I know everything, and I’m always right.

Haha, I have no dog in that hunt. You want to believe he's not a take, that's fine. I was against taking Russell (of course, we still had the 25/85 rule at the time), so you have every right to believe what you want to believe.

Just speculating, but I think you saw FAU and barfed. Which I get. But personally, I see this kid as the ideal late bloomer project who will take to S&C and be a beast. And I don't worry about the portal like you do. Really good OL and DTs rarely hit the portal. If Mario wants to keep him, he'll keep him.

I don't think a team can prevent a player from entering the portal. I need you to cite a source for that.
MONEY lmao. Come on man. You think no conversations are had before a player jumps in the portal?

here......Mesidor would have that OR locked in. And i love our tandem but yall gotta be real.

I think ppl still think he left because of pt or got beat out. He would be locked in to the rotation...Jason Taylor is notnot playing a 6'5 260 pound kid with bend in his pass rush. lol
In the Rotation? yeah I'm sure. (one of the reasons would be similar to Why wes will never lose snaps btw).
But starter? Yeah you're tripping there man. ESPECIALLY after literally having watched the start Mesidor has had to this season. It wouldn't even be a conversation. Would he be getting maybe 20 ish snaps? Probably.

That’s called persuasion not preventing, brother.
I mean I'm not saying we'd have a gun to the kids head. But if we want to keep a guy over him transferring to any G5 type of school, I'm betting anything on our ability to do so. Where we wont Is if we determine its not working out/not seeing enough development, or the money isn't "worth it". But if a guy isn't receiving all that much and is just developing for a couple years, there is no issue.

Nothing prevents a player from entering the portal

... sure bud lmao. Guess that's why the entire team entered the portal this offseason then, right?
Again, persuasion is not preventing. I don’t understand how you can’t tell them apart. But maybe I’m expecting too much. So I’ll move along. Thank you for the dialogue.

Whelp I knew ain’t no way this thread had this many posts about a 3 star because everyone was happy about it

back to the kid i like the upside and size.

When taking developmental types i want prerequisite or above avg size and he has that.

Also this kid is straight from Haiti so he doesnt have much bad habits when it comes to football because he never played it...and for a kid to never play it his film screams high potential because he is doing things on their from a technique and motor point that veteran players dont do.

Id say he appears to be 6'4 280 at least. I believe NIL would keep him here long enough to stash and develop this kid family had to asylum from Haiti..that money hes gonna get gonna go along way and they dont have to travel to see him. Also like taking kids from hcs that played in the nfl or high div 1 because they know what its supposed to look like and aint just over selling their kid.

hes a draft n stash....we'll check back 2 years from now on him.

Now a top performer for a b12 team is a jag? Last I checked the b12 is out performing the acc. Plus UCF is 3-0 with an asskicking of an acc team.

How are kids that will get nfl opportunities jags? I mean, there are 1800 nfl players roughly. Does this mean only future hof players aren’t jags?
Fictitious post.

Motor, Motor, Motor.

Give me DL who dont take plays off.

Our kids are big, strong, and athletic. But very very few have the motor that all our kids have had for 50, 60, 70 plays. For guys their size their VO2 must be unreal.

This kids seems to check that box off even in high school which is when move big kids can easily take plays off and get away with it.
