The top player in the 2026 class is officially a Miami Hurricane, as five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell has signed his LOI.

The 6-foot-8, 325 pounder from Nixa, Mo. is the #1 overall prospects according to Rivals and a consensus Top 10 prospect.

Cantwell is a national champion in the shotput, shattering national records along the way.

At Miami he will immediately battle to replace Francis Mauigoa at right tackle next season, and more than likely will take that job.

Coach Mario Cristobal had a vision for this Hurricanes team, and signing guys like Cantwell brings it one step closer to reality.

What are this dude’s weaknesses? Because he’s very likely going to be our RT next season. That’s the price of picking up one of these types. So, what should we expect? I don’t know his competition at all and I consistently admit I have minimal OL technical insight. OL guys? Help?

Hope coach made similar TD deal with Cantwell he made with Francis. Better be an OT pass where he throws the football like it's a shot put though

Pass blocking is probably the weakness. Nixa doesn't throw the ball much due to a great running game and never really trailing in ball games.
The kid has an amazing work ethic and being in Miami for Spring ball I see him developing quick in pass protection.

what an amazing young guy for so many reasons including his great ACT scores at age 16. Plus great athletes for parents and seemingly a good level headed attitude. I will be rooting for him tho i suspect he'll do just fine with or without one fan's support.

Kid looks insanely motivated based on his demeanor and how he speaks in interviews. I sense he has the awareness of just how great an opportunity he has here.
