Big facts. I don't understand how people can second guess Mario at this point. Of the guys Mario has signed out of high school very few are busts. I think Mario's talent evaluations are at the top of the sport.
In today's CFB, you aren't just going to sign 5star after 5star. Every school is looking for that diamond in the rough that isn't looking for a huge NIL package and understands that development takes time (meaning, they just dont run to the portal because they aren't getting much playing time). Im all for taking kids like this and Daylen Russell and letting them develop, hopefully, into a Ahmad Moten (a player who starts getting real PT by his junior year and solid contributor).
Let's pay homage where it's due, being big and being able to move well comes from genetics. Shout out to alllll the big mama's passing those gene on down the line !!!

And back in the day UM did the same thing with some guy named Russell Maryland. Too fat to play coming out of high school, wins a national championship, #1 overall pick in the draft and 3 time Super Bowl champ. Worked out OK for all parties

Around same era Butch and JJ nabbed some unknown DLman from Okeechobee HS who didn't
even play football his senior year. Speaking of Jimmie Jones, of course.

I always think about Jimmie Jones being good enough to start at UM, losing his starting spot after an injury because Kennedy and Maryland were just amazing, and then still being good enough to be drafted and winning Super Bowls with the Cowboys.

hes playing against sh&t but you can see the huge upside...his movement at 280+ is really good. Kid is gonna be over 300 in no time and moving.
even being new to football its clear he has gotten some solid coaching in naples. He is a guy damione lewis would love cause this kid has no ad habits cause hes almost a blank canvass to work with.
This is who i hope his career arch to be like if we can hit on his development.
