Who’s the greatest assistant coach in canes history?

Gary Stevens offensive coordinator/qb coach.his quarterbacks led us to 4 nc.best late game offense period had two comebacks against good teams being behind 2-3 scores won one lost one in 88.
Defense tie between butch and Manny only two who actually shut down other teams.
I was looking for confirmation it was he who coached the QBs. Thanks!

Was randy Shannon DC in 01? Dat chit was tight! Coach kul was great. Did we get as much tkl for loss back in the day vs now?

Randy Shannon x Mark Stoops and Manny Diaz x Ephraim Banda x Mike Rumph

I liked the defense when Lovett was DC too. Fell off bad the following year.

81292

Not even close....Carmen Grosso.
Coached under Schnellenberger, Johnson, and Erickson, won 3 NCs as well as a Super Bowl ring with Jimmy

I'll Say Harold Allen if only cause he lived across the street from me and I went out with his daughter a couple times.....

Always tough to settle on "best," but here's my assistant coach Hall of Fame ….

Joe Brodsky
Tony Wise
Manny Diaz
Sonny Lubick
Chuck Pagano

Jon Richt > Corch Mark Whirlpool

In my Max Kellerman voice (and using his flawed logic)... If you replace Miami’s QBs in the Richt era with Jacory Harris, guaranteed at least two Coastal championships.

Not the best DL coach we’ve ever had but I have always felt Greg Mark doesn’t get enough credit.
He coached some amazing lines.

Does Pat Ruel count?
No. Because he didn't coach on elite teams. Who knows if he coached in the '80's or later. Longtime assistant to Pete Carroll. Part of the UM--USC/Seahawk connection.

OC Gary Stevens
DC Sonny Lubick

Position coaches? Hmmmm.....

DBs Chuck Pagano
WRs Curtis Johnson / Hubbard Alexander
RBs Don Soldinger
DL Butch Davis
