Where are we really at today as a program?....

Thank you, with a flakey *** incompetent a.d. that hasnt done anything but be mostly below mediocre. With a new transfer in qb who's stats against real competition are not better than perry's, but somehow the odds maker's have him 3rd in the heisman talks already, and he hasnt even been officially named the starter here yet, although we know how coach diaz gets down, lol.

We are a program with a none certified headcoach, making moves in the off season that mainly gets non-football minds excited. Most of the so called UM fan base that post now have real low football i.q.'s nowadays, so its easy to get the excited. Im not excited about none of these players until they actually playing real football and making plays in real games!

Have been thinking about it lately. What are your thoughts? Is it more of the same? Has MD turned the corner with Lashlee & the spread. Has our moment ended forever? I’m not looking to start a debate thread but would like some honest, NO emotion, opinions of what we are & what lies ahead.

For the last almost 10 years we have had the talent to get 10 wins every year but the school keeps hiring terrible coaches.

Coker, Shannon, Golden, and, Diaz have come thing in common: their short time at Miami was the absolute peak of their career. They will all be known for doing nothing of note after Miami. Richts time here proved how much he was overhyped at Georgia.

The culture is a mess which is half on the players and half on the coaches. Modern kids and especially the ones we recruit dont prioritize winning. Football just isn't important to them. Alot of them are lazy. Alot are entitled.

Coaches are also to blame for their God-awful evaluations and recruiting. They set the culture which right now prioritizes looking good over playing well. The chains and rings. The social media brand manager. We end up with these 3 and 4 star players and a top rated class, but no other school wanted these "top rated" kids for a reason. Look at how many busts are on the team now. This is why we have to leave florida for certain positions like O-line, linebacker, tight end, and QB. 99% of Florida kids dont have it upstairs, and the ones who do go to the best schools.

Every failed regime has also mismanaged one side of the game schematically. The recent obvious ones were golden and the donofrio defense. Richt and his son and the offense. Enos and the offense, and lowkey the Diaz defense. Until we can master both sides together we will continue to suck.

Clemson is the ultimate team to emulate right now. Swinney slowly brought them up to greatness. It starts with proper talent evaluations and creating a winning culture. They bring in winners. Alphas. But they are SMART. The age of winning on speed and size are gone. To win now you need to be smart.

They take these kids; some who are highly ranked and some who arent, and coach them up so EFFECTIVELY. But again, these kids are capable of learning in the first place. They are smart. And they WANT to learn. They get them on an effective S&C program which uses steroids (as they've been caught countless times).

Then they are put in a scheme that suits them. Their coaches adapt to the strengths of their players and they mask their players weaknesses. This is how they start 0-stars and walkons who compete against 5-stars.

They get every single drop out of squeezing the orange to make juice. They get the most there possibly is out of their players while our players underachieve at Miami and then get drafted on potential, and develop after a few years of actual learning in the NFL.

If we had actual coaches right now, we would easily go 11-1 or 12-0 and score some points against clemson in the ACCCG, but we dont.

WOW, my sentiments exactly .......crystal 7 wins as CMD will losses MSU,NC, FSU maybe UVA and team will come out flat and lose to someone we should beat by easily. Lose minor bowl game , but CMD will return as Fake Blake will point out significant progress rinse and recycle

fsu is in far worse condition than we are right now.

If we could change the attitude of the players, we could get back up to the top. It is the culture that makes the program. Miami has always had subpar facilities compared to the big programs, yet we dominated for years. It was due to the culture. We have the athletes now; we just get so little out of them.

If you look at the size of our players... you can see how far we are. I know people like to think that the size of our players dont matter, but that's a lie. When you have DEs weighing 240-245 (Roche & Harvey), Tackles weight 273 (Nelson), Guards just barely scratching 300, LBs weight 210 (Huff, Austin, and Brooks), and all but 1 WR over 190... you can see where we are. As a team we are the size of group of 5 squad.

The70,S was the worst decade in the history of cane sports period. The administration at that time wanted to demphasise sports and dropped basketball. This anti sport movement actually started in 1962 when Henry Stanford took over as president. The Board got fed up about 1978 and started forcing reemphasis. He finally resigned in 1981. Prior to when Stanford took over the Canes were never considered a cupcake and had some **** good teams. Have been a Cane fan since 1949 and mid-sixties through most of the seventies was sickening

Thanks.

I really love hearing from people who have been around a long time.

A good offense. That's all.

Need a head coach that is a good leader, commands respect, and is adaptable.

Manny is adaptable. It’s the leadership part as head coach that concerns me. He has to grow into that role very fast and it may be too late. He was given too much, too soon and it might have doomed him.

Have you guys ever played red light green light as a kid...we back at the start line

We were inside the 20...then committed 7 holding penalties in a row..we are half a distance from our own 1 yard line

Miami should be a top 15-20 team every year, no doubt. The talent is there, I think they coaches are starting to get put into place... it just hasn't worked for whatever reasons.

At peak, currently, we can be Wisconsin. Good enough to make some noise, but not good enough to get over the hump (Clemson) in the ACC. But, things can turn quickly in either direction. For example, FSU's complete drop off post 2016 or the other way is Clemson post 2010 really.

Things can pick up quickly or fall off even faster, in FSU's case.

Miami had the perfect opportunity post 2017 to run with it and go, but didn't take advantage.

Mark Richt's teams quit
Randy Shannon's teams quit
Al Golden's teams quit
Larry Coker's teams quit

It's not a Manny problem. It's a Miami problem. Now, it's Manny's job to figure out how to change that trend. But it's not easy. For some reason, when these kids lose a few games, they go in the tank. Been the blueprint for a couple decades now.

If only Torretta and Hill had kids, we could convert that.

Manure was an absolute all-time failure as a leader of men in 2019. No matter what else changes, if he can’t get that fixed, then he’s doomed.

I’m excited to see the new offense because it’s been forever since we’ve had a fun, modern explosive offense.

As a program we are literally 15-20 years behind.

Just look around.

We needed an IPF 20 years ago.

We needed a dedicated SC program combined with a nutritionist 15 years ago.

We needed to change our offense in 05

We needed to change the way we recruit 15 years ago

Everything this program does is reactionary instead of proactively. This program is run by buffoons top to bottom. Nobody at Miami has and foresight whatsoever. The only time a change comes is when we hit rock bottom.

We let Randy mill the program. He should of been gone by year 2. But nobody watched over the program with a close eye. Kids weren’t working out and we didn’t have a dedicated SC/ nutrition program.

We were going to keep Golden another year but thankfully Clemson anal raped us on live TV giving us the worst loss ever at home.

We ar always late to the party.

Donofrio should of fired after season 1 by the AD

Jon Richt should of never been hired.

Manny should of never been offered the job.
