Here's is what we are, and what we've been for the last TWO DECADES. These points have been discussed ad nauseum by myself and several other long time posters on this board that have the ability to see the obvious and understand that everything else we ***** about on these boards are SYMPTOMS. I tend to be the kind of person that likes to focus in on the DISEASE and attempt to fix the problem at the root.

- We are a football program with a group of decision makers that, as a whole, don't care about upper echelon success out of the football program.
- We are a football program that, within that contingent of decision makers referenced above, have a small contingent of people in that group that do care...but are completely incompetent when they do get their shot to make a change and help out the program.

Remember back in high school when we studied graphs, the X and Y axis, and all that good stuff? The University of Miami's football program operates in the geographical section of the graph that represents the intersection of APATHY and incompetence.

There's nothing else that needs to be said or analyzed. I had a long conversation this past week with one of the most golden of the golden Canes who knows more than probably anyone on this board....and I can tell you I didn't like what I heard. This program, for all intents and purposes, is relatively dead (from the standpoint of regaining greatness) for at least the near future.

THE MAJORITY OF THEM DON'T CARE. PERIOD. Maybe it won't make a difference, maybe it will....but implore all of you to stop donating and stop buying season tickets. I'd rather the program be shut down than be run in the manner it's currently being run.
Or you could just stop watching?

Well unlike some, possibly you included, I look for improvement. He got a train wreck from Richt, and fell flat on his face in year one. I saw him make a lot of moves, and improve in the win/loss column. I saw him again address failures this past off-season, and was in wait and see mode in hopes we would see another improvement.
I don't like to see recycled coaches year after year, because that NEVER leads to success. You can try to beat me up for it all you want, I don't care. I was/am hoping for long term success for the team.
Exactly. All he has ever done is *****, *****, *****, *****, ***** since he has joined. I don’t like Diaz anymore and the admin is putrid but the way a small segment of these guys carry on leads me to believe they are not and have never been cane fans. They are here with bad intentions.

We’ve played two games.

Smith, Restrepo, Rivers, Flagg and Chaney before getting hurt are starting or heavy contributors. Arroyo, Kichens and Williams have gotten burn.

What more did you expect?

Like I said in another thread, basically the equivalent of a top tier Sun Belt team.

Look at where Coastal Carolina and Louisiana finished last season.
Hey guys, remember when I got savaged and dumb voted all week for posting this?

Good times.

Don’t misunderstand me. Miami’s talent is way above Sun Belt level. But the coaching is way below Sun Belt level.

You have a defensive specialist as HC and yet the defense consistently gives up backside contain all day long. That’s defensive football 101. Every game against a decent RB will look like today.

I still browse pretty often, but I don't post much because I don't have anything positive to say about the program and I don't wanna be the guy who only posts to shlt on the team.
Understood. Hopefully we get the changes we need sooner than later.

Do we really need to wait? Fans were out here calling for Coker's head after 2002 and 2003. Fans were out here calling for Richt's head after three straight losses in 2017.

I can guarantee that this Cane fanbase, still with delusions of 80s grandeur, probably with entire man caves filled with Irvin posters and old VHS tapes of the 83 Cornhusker game, will want Manny gone after five straight #15 finishes. They'll scream about Manny being a choke artist, cant win big games, cant get over the hump, blah blah blah.
