What was your biggest surprise this season?

  • Keionte, Jakobe, O'Connor and Poyser
  • Secondary in general
  • Defense improvement overall
  • Carter Davis being a stud
  • Markell Bell
  • Marty
  • Pancake

    On the negative side
  • Lack of production from Lofton, Trader and Lyle (understand injuries played a part with all 3)

Our kicker. Trenches were a known strength coming in (and they still managed to outperform), D was going to be improved, offense was going to be consistent. So to me, the kicker was such a big unknown and he wasn’t just solid, he was one of the best in the country!

I hear about the OSU team having better talent. More NFL talent. Maybe . . .

What I saw was a good, but puffed up OSU team - living off of last year's reputation.

That was LAST year.

Since Schellenberger came aboard - I've seen UM many times - be Giant Killers. Dragon Slayers.

It's a mindset. We don't seem to like Giants. Nor Dragons.

It’s obviously Toney but in the macro, it’s that this team didn’t roll over and actually learned. It’s the first Mario team that’s improved during the year. They overcame adversity.

Coah Cristobal.

This guy GETS it. For all the **** we give him for game time decisions (which he somehow continues to improve although he has been coaching for years), he adjust his philosophy when he realized it was costing games. I'm not sure if it became more of a trust thing with the staff, but since those 2 loses, I feel like he let's the coordinators take ownership of their responsibilities and we play different.

I can literally watch the game and say "that was a dumb *** call by Dawson" vs earlier where I would say " coach needs to let them boys play".
