What was your biggest surprise this season?

When CJ caught that one-handed TD catch before half against ND, i was like wtf did i just see. Similar to Cam's scramble and dime TD in back of the endzone vs. Florida first game. Knew we were ****** rolling from there.

And shout out to Marty Brown, from North Dakota to the U, we're not here without him.

The biggest surprise to me was seeing Mario respond to the national media’s, us as fans, and other coaches criticism after the SMU game. He basically said I’m going to unleash my team to show you that we’re for real.

I have to eat crow, because I never thought in a million years that Mario would change how he approached the game. No more playing close to the vest and he’s getting more fiery on the sidelines and the boys notice, because they’re walking around knowing what they bring to the table.

He’s letting it all hang out, but it’s calculated. This is what this program needed. Play all of your trump cards and let the chips fall where they may.

Thomas, Scott and Fitzgerald.

Thomas and Scott were late additions, and Fitz ain’t arrive till late summer.

I knew this DL was about to pop, I might’ve been the highest on Mesi out of anyone, and while Toney has been absolutely insane, if you followed spring and summer you could see the writing on the wall.

The way we finished the season and Mario taking his coaching to another level. I always knew we had the talent this year, now I feel like he's getting the best out of the team. They have bought into playing with violence and physicality. Four players come to mind when I think this, Bain, Mesidor, Scott and Thomas, they're a wrecking crew.

Like many posters, I say the complete turnaround of the team after the SMU loss. Many of us expected the team to lose at least two more games and maybe even all the remaining games. I sarcastically posted the team very well could finish 7-5, followed up by a minor bowl game loss, where half the team opts out. I’m waiting for my order of wild-caught organic crow to be delivered on January 20th.

Instead, Mario, the staff and the team all took a long look in their eyes and in their hearts and decided “enough was enough”, reminding themselves of who they are, made course corrections, and are now in the CFP semifinals.

A lot went into building this team. Staff changes brought in a star defensive staff. Replaced the first pick in the draft with an excellent quarterback. Signed a great recruiting class, some of who contributed their true freshman seasons. Brought in the best portal class in the country, rebuilding the entire secondary, adding depth across the board, and a new kicker whose third field goal as a Cane was a bomb to beat Notre Dame in the rain.

This feels like a team of destiny.

Ole Miss will be a formidable opponent. I don’t think Miami needs any motivation but I hope the media spends the entire week pumping the Trinidad Chambliss story while ignoring the Canes.

Keep disrespecting this team.

After that game we’ll see. The Hoosiers will be all-time love story on ESPN if Indiana manages to beat Oregon in a rematch. And they would deserve it. Give them all the flowers.

Keep disrespecting this team.

Miami matches up well. Alabama gave Indiana fits for a quarter but quit at the first sign of adversity.

Miami does not quit.

Time to win a sixth national championship where it belongs, on Miami’s home field.

Go Canes.
