What was your biggest surprise this season?

Toney being all world
Scott being all world
Fletch flexing hard the last two games
Kicker outside ATM game
Brown is money
Toure's hit did not see that coming
Psycho really is the real deal
we knew about 3 and 4 but they still deserve a mention bc without them we are not here
there is one more surprise but we have to win it all before it is said in actual letters. we know that ONE LINER

Anyone who didn't expect our DLine Domination was smoking crack, and I said so all pre-season.

Most surprising GOOD thing was:
- Not falling apart in final quarter of season
- How ELITE Keionte Scott and Jakobe Thomas have been
- How QUICKLY Toney immediately became Dominant
- Carter Davis. This may actually be the most shocking of all, that we added a guy that made <40% of his career kicks at FAU, and then this year not counting the A&M wind situation has been excellent.
- Moten stepping up to THIS level. I thought he'd be good, but this exceeded my expectations.
- Heatherman even better than expected
- Bryce Fitzgerald being the last player on the team basically, and immediately being a top contributor and Not looking scared to tackle

Most surprising BAD thing was:
- How bad we were running the ball early+mid season
- How bad the TE room was all year
- Lyle and Trader
- None of the younger LBs stepped up
- How dog**** we were with OLine penalties

Not completely collapsing in November. I legit thought the season was over after Louisville and SMU. It was the first time in like almost 2 decades that we didn't fold and my PTSD was cured.

biggest surprise? Many surprises.

1. Beating ND, UF, FSU, VT in the same season. 4 rivals in 1 year!!!

2. Toney. Nuff said

3. The DEFENSE!

4. Making the playoffs with 2 losses and then manhandling 8&4 and OSU!

I see several SMU mentions; it's almost like that game woke us up. As Saban mentioned, sometimes you have to lose. Anyone who saw that game knew we got robbed. IIRC, Mario recently said that he brought the team together and basically asked, 'Well, what are we going to do about this now?'

After last year, it has to be defense. No one saw a turnaround like this coming except maybe those in the building. Great job by Heatherman and staff.

Mesidor and Toney for me. I thought Bain would bounce back but I had no idea Akheem would be right there dominating also. Toney? do I even need to explain that pick?

Toney Tone

On the flip side, Elijah Lofton’s sudden lack of burst.

Keenan Marion & CJ Daniels have been better than advertised.

The resilience during the last four games was impressive as well. Didn’t believe our margin of victories would be that wide.

Relative Lack of penalties in the playoffs has been awesome too.

The biggest surprise for me was Mario / Dawson adapting the play calling / style of play midseason.

Huge respect to both of them for making the changes needed knowing they had a roster good enough to win if they made philosophical changes.
